This is what all PNG RL investment should look like.
Peter V'landys: It's going to be one of the hardest decisions we've had to make - ABC listen
A week on from the NRL's Las Vegas season opener the Chair of the Australian Rugby League Commission Peter V'landys has had time to reflect on the success of the trip. He told Andrew Moore and the team they couldn't be happier with how year 1 worked. But he's keen to point out this is just the...www.abc.net.au

That’s a good point now they want investment in Perth and not pngPort Moresby will be the home of the 18th NRL licence.
Rugby league fans all over the world are the beneficiaries of this landmark achievement.
I'm proud of the ARLC for investing in PNG's infrastructure. It will have a positive impact on the game in whole and the wider PNG community.
Sadly, there are toxic people on this forum who've whinged about the ARLC not spending enough on infrastructure for years. Now they've got an administrator investing heavily in the infrastructure of the only country in the world that holds the game as itsnational sport, yet these people are turning this into a negative.
PNG vs Dolphins will be special.

They will need funding for that. The way he talks about PNG is pretty matter of fact now. Seems as far as he’s concerned it will happen just a matter of when.
If they’re coming in 2027-2028 they should be looking at getting junior teams up and running as soon as next year. Hunters running teams in Mal Meninga & Cyril Connell would be an obvious start.
The NSW comps might even be worth looking at as they’re longer seasons for the Junior comps. Could leave Hunters to do their thing in the QLD system and run NSW Cup, Flegg & SG Ball teams under the NRL team branding (assuming they won’t be ‘Hunters’), even if just for 1-2 years.
They will need funding for that.
Something the govt hasn't yet provided
Dolphins can take a game against PNG to Perth to rile up PR. Both teams wear black, gold and red. That’s a good point now they want investment in Perth and not png
The whole reason it's even being discussed, is because the ARLC believe they don't have to invest even one cent into the venture.Since someone brought it up, why would the ARLC invest anything into Perth?
f**k em, fund themselves or should I say…f**k em they can fund the bears for team 39
Good interview. PVL made clear that the $60m is not going to the NRL team, it will be going to schools and pathways.Peter V'landys: It's going to be one of the hardest decisions we've had to make - ABC listen

@Perth Red 60 million !!!!Good interview. PVL made clear that the $60m is not going to the NRL team, it will be going to schools and pathways.
What's not clear, is this reported figure extra over and above the current foreign aid figure, or are they proposing to dip into the existing funding to support a RL team?Good interview. PVL made clear that the $60m is not going to the NRL team, it will be going to schools and pathways.
Did you listen to it? He doesnt say how much money is being offered. Just that it is going to schools to stop poverty.
Also, and more worryingly, based on Phil Gould's advice to PVL on PNG school attendance.Did you listen to it? He doesnt say how much money is being offered. Just that it is going to schools to stop poverty.
Vlandys likes to name drop to give his latest brain fart some justification. Politis 20 teams, Olam base them in PNG, Gould on PNG school truancy and so it goes on.....Also, and more worryingly, based on Phil Gould's advice to PVL on PNG school attendance.
Phil Gould, the noted expert on Geo politics and extreme poverty issues.
Whatever the number only a small part of it will go to RL at all, and even then the majority of that money earmarked for RL will go to social programs that use RL as a tool to push a message and not to actually developing the sport.Good interview.
