We have been told time and again by PVL and Abdo that the PNG NRL team will change their society …this may very well extend to their gender and Domestic Violence problems ….

According to his very own words below … the team and money spent on pathways will provide incentive for their kids to attend school and get an education and it will lift their country out of poverty …according to the below interview he specifically says this could be done in 10-20 years ..

Now many other experts on PNG might say that PVL is at best naive and at worst outright lying about this …but never underestimate the good that Rugba Leeg can do… next stop should be the Middle East .. Get teams from Tel Aviv and Gaza playing against each other in the NRL …that would promise to be a fiery clash…

I can't speak for where the aid went but there towns here they pay up to $200k for NRL games, So there must be flow on somewhere.

It won't get Tourist money like towns here do. But the average wage in PNG is 1/4 of here.

The club directly is getting $15m in grant for football operations, if the govt is kept out of that part then that should flow down.

The players will need to eat, have haircuts and so on. So that alone brings money to country that isn't there currently.

The compound will have maintence, cleaners etc. they will be locals because no one is moving up there to clean shitters.

So you are looking at more employment that is without school attendance increasing which is unknown.

So I can see some improvement, Not sure if it is what the govt says or is hoping but still improves the country slightly
