Ok, this is by a person who specialises in national security.. but what about all the NRL fans that subscribe to Joe Rogan & sky news & know this is already a disaster?!
Jeez, that's a wide net.
What if you only are interested in some Rogan guests, a small fact based fraction of Sky reporting and remain sceptical but optimistic??
Dare I say it..

So assuming this is def happening.

Anyone care to search trademarks for a rego name ? I hope they don't go for something silly like PNG United.
Fair question, New Guinea Spears?

For all the media hype.. I still don't see it for some time yet, maybe a pre commitment for 2030 sounds more reasonable.

The PNG government funding doesn't start until 2028 and that is supposedly for the security and accommodation ( high performance centre) which all has to be built.. maybe at least a 2 year build?

Only hope now is that we at least get a decision next week on something!!

Vipers or crocodiles for me

But there’s this

“Displayed on the national flag is the Raggiana Bird of Paradise, Paradisaea (Latin for paradise) Raggiana, named for Marquis FM Raggi, an Italian naturalist and collector in New Guinea.”

PNG Vipers
PNG Hunters (QRL won't allow this)
PNG Crocodiles

I’d prefer they keep Hunters in QCup as a separate entity, they can also run juniors in the QLD systems.

For the NRL make a new brand, I like Crocodiles, or use Vipers assuming that isn’t too problematic. Run reserves and juniors in the NSW systems which are at this point basically just NRL reserve grade & under 21s minus the QLD clubs.

Gives coverage from 16s to Open age, get those pathways pumping.

Juniors:
Junior club and Highschool Competitions
U16 - Hunters (Cyril Connell)
U17 - Crocodiles (Harold Matts)
U18 - Hunters (Mal Meninga)
U19 - Crocodiles (SG Ball)
U21 - Crocodiles (Jersey Flegg) or NYC if it returns.

Adult:
Crocodiles (NRL)
Hunters (QLD Cup)
Crocodiles (NSW Cup)
