1. Perth NRL players would only have to travel every other week. A PNG side in Cairns will have to travel every week. What and teams having to international travel and play in the heat of Port Moresby isnt going to be demanding on other clubs? Your argument is spurious
2. Irrelevant. The reality is the pasifika side is shthouse and the fiji side is broke. Why you think these are good examples of why we should have a PNG/Pasifika side lord only knws.

1. Its an hr & 10 minutes from cairns to PNG. 1 million ppl travel longer for work here in Sydney. Perth trip to east coast is murder.
2. So u ignore the same measures when assessing perth that u use to attack other teams?!
3. Ur a hypocrite

To show how much an idiot you are pippen:

Travel comparison based on PNG in Cairns and both clubs playing Qlnd teams away, Melbourne away and 7 Sydney teams away.

Flight time plus time at airport pre flight (1hr domestic, 2hrs international)

PNG - 24 weekends travelling
12 home games in Port Moresby = 84hours
7 Sydney games = 56hours
1 Melb game = 9hours
3 brisbane games = 18hours
1NQ game = 4 hours

Total travel time in a season = 171 hours travelling

Perth - 12 weekends travelling
12 home games = 0 hrs
7 Sydney games =77hours
1 Melb game = 9.5hours
3 Brisbane games = 36hours
1 NQ game = 18 hours

Total travel time in a season = 140.5 hours travelling

Ha. So cairns to Townsville is 55 mins but u got 4hrs. Somehow cairns to PNG is 7 hour round trip when it's closer to 1 hr for single leg.
Typical Perth red bs numbers

ok for the dumb amongst us. 2hrs flying time, 2 hrs airport time. Its a return trip or do you think they are just going one way?

Cairns to PNG is 2hrs airport time for international flight check in and 1hr 30mins flying time, and thats if there's suitable flights which there aren't many. Otherwise its through Brisbane which adds another 6-7hours on the trip one way!

As someone who flies every other week airport time is just as big a factor in travel fatigue as flight time.

Give it up you've been proved a dckhead, yet again.

So, a lot of pacifica's travel hrs in ur admittedly dodgy numbers are not in the air. 4 hrs in the airport per trip for PNG?!
That's equal to Perth's entire airport time spread out over seasons.

Even by ur own dodgy numbers Perth team spends more time in air?!

Want to rethink ur argument?/

Why are you guys comparing png to super rugby

The finances of the png team are different

heck the png team will have half the turnover of rugby Australia

and unlike fiji tonga or samoa png has a massive population.

So really any international flight will take an extra two hours in travel time... lets just get rid of this png idea, and boot out the warriors, all this travel time is a wasted effort

Red did but he's forgetting government funding new team.
PNG has population but it's poor so that's irrelevant.

Travel to WA is a non-factor in terms of cost and time.

Every other east coast based sport manages it without any issue.

It's a deflection from the forum idiots.

So the 10% rich/well off (that aren't poor) who would probably get upto half million maybe morso wont want to pay for tix or merch ....please, theyll have the Chinese knock offs there quicker than they could make them, every person that can get there hands on a jersey will get one

The bias against having a png team is unbelievable here on this forum... we all talk of population bases/metros and who plays the game in what areas, png smashes all that...
We cant even figure out which area NZ2 would be in, thats why theres no bid...

Their ground only holds 15k

it’s a better version of kayo stadium

if they built an 80k coliseum it would be full each week

Yes because 10% of PNG are Millionaires.

And the average PNG local will just order knock off merchandise, using their Amazon Prime membership. Of which zero royalties will go to the NRL or the team.

Could you be anymore of a peanut?

Sorry but i can get a tix to a game and buy a jersey here in sydney and not be a millionaire... not sure what your tangent is, there are plenty of people in png who aren't living in poverty, do we brush the whole country with the same brush

Nailed it

the whole argument has this really bad smell about it saying they are all poor

last thing I would’ve thought from rugby league fans where many clubs come from poor areas but there you go
