Tv doesn’t care, the value is mostly in total ratings, ratings in secondary markets is a bonus.

What it does do is give them opportunity to sell to advertisers that their products will be seen across national metro markets.

If fta wanted bigger market for nrl in melbourne they’d do something about it, like not burying it on gem.

Like perth, fta has been horrific in its covg of nrl in these cities for two decades.
Without knowing the ptv audiences for these cities we really have no idea what the reach or value is.

pretty sure a PNG club would be bottom of Australian TVs list, but it seemingly isnt barrier to their admission.
