Is that to their mobile network or their pay tv service?Debt threatens Digicel’s Pacific dominance
The sprawling telecoms provider is deep in the red, and it might be the company’s PNG profits that help bail it out.www.lowyinstitute.org
Digicel has 2.1 million subscribers in png and another 500k in the pacific
Revenues of over 700 million
And the idiots said people in png couldn’t afford tv sets

I noticed Tonga was sponsored by digicel aswell last weekendDigicel TV is a subsidiary that is in PNG alone.
The mobile network covers the Pacific Islands aready mentioned as well.
The Telstra buy out covers both.

NRL content is on it now, and by all accounts widely watched. There is a very high percentage of poor folk in png that cannot afford electricity and thus a TV, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to sell NRL content to that remaining low percentage who can afford it and want to be part of the fanbase, the are rumours that the population is 18 million, not 12 million that gets thrown around, so if there's 12-13million poor there's obviously a good 4-5 million who can afford or atleast might be interested in the product
There are rumblings of MM and CC Cup sides in near future. Fingers crossed it pans out!Hopefully a National U18s Youth Competition is now not too far away.
Maybe even soon have teams in the Mal Meninga and Cyril Connell cups in QLD
Anyway, maybe someone here might be interested in applying.
PerfRed hates gambling, but if you need to rent something for an overpriced amount, no problem! You can have 67 billion people watch on TV. If they don't have a brass razzoo between them it's not going to be very appealing to advertisers.
Unless of course you're advertising gambling. Then png is very appealing.
Smart man Mr V'landys. You can add your own adjectives to describe him depending on your stance on gambling.
Not sure, but adding a team there will surely get the casual well off viewer into a gambling, kayo subscribing fanatic (much like us) it's the dream we are all living, the one PVL is selling, we must now peddle the wears to all the other nationsNRL content is on it now, and by all accounts widely watched.
How much is that earning currently?
You're not funny. It’s funny people making up bs then being wrong with every post

I said that five pages ago and you`re making sound like something new.30 % of people in png have a mobile phone
Now here’s the important bit those phones can be used to stream games

That`s a stretch. The amount they`ll be able to charge will be miniscule, but yes it will add up and will be a handy addition to NRL revenue but not in the NZ broadcast deal range yet.The nrl tv deal in png could easily match the nz one if their games are getting 1 to 1.5 million viewers

Yes. That's what gamblers do.They don’t have a brass razoo that will appeal to advertisers .., but they will spend every cent they (don’t) have gambling on the NRL? Interesting argument ..
