150M compound for tax free millionaires in one of the most impoverished countries on the planet.

What could go wrong?

They have to get hundreds of millions of dollars per year in loans to even afford their budget. Spending 150m on rich white people seems like good economic management.

Although given they are also one of the most corrupt countries on the planet, that 150m will be about 10m spent on the compound and the rest in the pocket of the PM and his mates for "consulting services".

Lets hope the good folk of PNG are more like Americans than French!
The Americans like to idolise the rich even though they themselves are in poverty, the French would be dragging the guillotine out!

This does have strong "British colonialism" vibes

even if you typed this in jest, if nrl are controlling them then its hard to see how they won't be well served off the field at the very least
No I do honestly believe it, once it gets up off the ground. 1 team city should attract great WA sponsors, less animosity in the city than Melbourne towards league, easier to build junior pathways than other non-heartland areas. If they can follow the Melbourne storm model they should have more chance of success and faster than the storm.

There are so many unknowns with PNG but with Perth there is a formula and ingredients for a very successful club right there.

the nrl won’t let them not succeed, they need a great coach in place and a solid team.

All aspects of the club must be on point, and having an upgraded hbf that’s similar setup to CommBank will really set it up for success.
