KANGAROO Anthony Minichiello was yesterday rated the best fullback in 20 years after inspiring Australia to a 26-14 win over Great Britain and thrusting his country into rugby league's Tri-Nations final.

Minichiello was again brilliant in a four-try- to-two win that ended Great Britain's tournament and put Australia into the decider against New Zealand next Sunday morning (AEST) at Elland Road, Leeds.
The Kangaroos played under enormous pressure aware a loss of eight points or more would end their campaign but yet again defeated the Lions, the victory being Australia's 10th in their past 11 matches against the British.
And it was Minichiello who busted tackles, was positioned perfectly all game and was superb with kick-returns.
Australia's assistant coach and Melbourne Storm mentor Craig Bellamy said Minichiello now deserved to be rated among the game's greatest-ever fullbacks.
"He is the best fullback in the past 20 years," Bellamy said. "Anthony is entitled to be rated right up there with the best. He is just so consistent.
"One of my favourite fullbacks was Graeme Langlands. Darren Lockyer is also a great player, there was Graham Eadie, Gary Belcher, Garry Jack. Minichiello is close to them.
"He's entitled to be right up there and certainly deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as those players."
Australian five-eighth Trent Barrett added: "He's one of the best fullbacks I've played with.
"He just never drops the ball."
Test captain Danny Buderus praised his fullback's performance.
"He does everything 100 miles an hour," Buderus said.
Minichiello was delighted with his performance.
"I felt comfortable out there," he said. "As a team we can play better. It was a good win but there's still one match to go."
