Positives for 2023

I'll start:

We've proven we that we can win big games.
Halves pairing of Moses and Brown are another year older/wiser.
Sean Lane has established himself as a leader and will be strong again.
Will Penisini will have a breakout year - Dally M centre of the year.
Hodgson is all class. I predict he will be strong in the 14.
Hopgood and possibly Martin if we can jag him will be good replacements.

I reckon the premiership window bullshit is just that...bullshit. Easy to focus on the players that are leaving but I still think we'll be fine.

Who knows. Might be good or may not make 8. Injuries play a big part.So does draw and opposition.
We have a solid spine still and decent pack. Still lack genuine x factor and our 2-5 are fairly average. But a lot of sides also do look weaker.

I'd say 2024/2025 we will be strong again. We will have Waqa/N.Brown/Bryce's money. 3 non contributors. And maybe a few juniors can make a difference by then. From what I been told we won't have anything good junior wise in 2023.

Agree with the other positives, but...

- Not sold on Penisini (yet), to me whether he has a strong year very much depends on who's inside and outside him in defence, and whether they're playing switched on.

- If Hodgson is in the 14, who is wearing the 9...?

Ok, have just seen you think Arthur will start in the 9... interesting.

I think Jake's being groomed for 6 or 7 personally. So maybe he'll be the regular bench 14 with Hodgson starting, meaning Jake gets a regular 20min stint either side of halftime every week (more mins than this year), plus will cover for mid-game injury in the halves?

Hodgson will be good value. Leadership is what we need. But we will need a 14 to rest him and a backup to play some games..

Hopgood is good. Though i think Matto has been a good middle and dunno how we play em both.

Gotta lose one to win one.

Hopeful we can sign a bench middle with some impact in the off season.

They are very low risk. They would of sold our licences to the black market for far larger amounts.
