I know what you mean, although it isn't Christy Malthouse. She seems entirely competent but for some unfathomable reason, the whole thing just doesn't seem right. I heard a lady commentating on English soccer the other day. Same thing. Very competent but just didn't click.

And Warren Smith will never be the next Ray Warren, whilst he is the best of the Fox Sports bunch he still comes across as smug and unlikeable, and is very predictable.

I doubt there are many females that could be chosen on their merits - the only certainty is they wont go for an ugly old woman ie a feminine version of sterlo or rabs. That said, I find the networks polish on the poster Sterlo/Fatty era is lacking, especially in the Pat TV field. One can argue that the polish has been put onto the Johns brothers (Joey is getting better all the time) and Freddy, but is lacking on anyone else. Consider the list:

and probably a few others. Wally took 20 years to make some sense. Ikin could have been great but got carried away being a Queensland dimwit, Daley found the worlds worst hairdresser and the rest just sounded like they were employed by their mates. The coaches are far better. The Wok is great on ABC. Gus gets too much air time and wastes it arguing with Rabs, but that aside he is great. Brian Smith and Bill Anderson were great too, and Daniel Anderson is warming to his task too.
