Possible female sideline commentator for Fox Sports

Simon Woolford was never cut out for public speaking and the fact Fox Sports have axed him is a good thing in my opinion. Nothing against him, I just dont think he was suited to that particular role.

American Football uses female sideline reporters and has done for some time. They interview the coaches / players at half time and pass on their words of “wisdom”. They discuss substitutions, injuries or areas the coaches want to focus on etc and they do an excellent job.

I think Fox are taking a positive step forward by including women in their broadcasting mix for Rugby League.

Yeah the Yanks use females across their coverage of sports from studio shows to games to the point where they've established themselves without being a novelty. The biggest problem in Australia is the females trying too hard to be one of the guys.

Of course there are good & bad, but it's the same with males.

I believe the technology should be devised where your television can detect chauvanism and change the male commentator voices to female ones to annoy the viewer even more.

Judging by the amount people are annoyed by the experts calling the game, I feel there is room to annoy them even more.

This topic should be discussed as part of the new tv rights deal imo.

No, we just have issues with them being there for the sake of it. The sad fact is Australian sport coverage very rarely has them there for anything other than window dressing.

I have no issues with a competent female broadcaster in rugby league.

I know what your saying but with some of the muppets getting around commentating on the NRL these days i could care less if they are being given the job cause they look good(atleast they'll have that going for them). I dislike most of the foxtel and channel 9 NRL guys and so do a lot of people if LU is any indication, why not try something new.
