possible replacement for Ellis

Jesus I must be the only bloke that doesn't buy into the Luke Lewis hype. What is it he does especially well. Not a wide running line busting backrower like Williams/Pritchard, doesn't make big metres up the guts, not especially creative or a great ball player, decent defender but you don't pay 500k for a decent defender. I just don't get it with this bloke. Gus has talked him up for years. He started as a winger then centre, then 5/8, then lock, then 2nd rower. Maybe supercoach has prop lined up so Lewis can complete his positional progression ??

Throw in Anasta and we'll have the dad's army second rowers. Will be like the graham, patterson and sattler years over again. 3 backrowers making a combined 23 hitups for 103m (cumulative)

umm, the Panthers may not be going all that well and there have been some issues off field as well so don't look at their games for this year. Look at SOO 1, 2 & 3 to see what Lewis does do, can do and will do with a change of club.

Saying that, a little birdy told me that he's going to The Shire. He needs a lifestyle change not just a drive down the M4.

The Tigers however, are looking at their playing roster so that they can make an offer to the son of a Tiger great.

Hint: he plays with no 7 on his back, he can tackle, he is a SOO player, family friend of the Roach, Siro, Brooks & Freeman families, he likes the ladies.

I'm not sold either especially on big bucks.

I think he is a good player but Ellis is someone who has an impact and goes all day. I think we need a tackle busting/big hitting type of player to replace Ellis. SBW would fit the bill. I'm not saying go for him because I reckon he could destabilise the club. A player with impact though and you could rotate BMM and whoever for 1/2 game each.

Fulton and Lewis to me are pretty similar players. I like both of them but Fulton would be on less dollars and I don't see him having much less of an impact.

I'm worried that all these big signings mean Fulton goes and it will be like losing Gibbs and Fifita again whilst gaining Blair. To me that was a bad deal.

We will lose Heighington before we lose Fulton.

Which wouldn't be a bad thing.

Lewis actually puts in, runs bloody good lines and runs hard. The three things that Ellis also does brilliantly.

If Blair has a crack we could have a good pack.

I hope u are wrong Old Time Tiger - dunno if I could handle Pearce at the tigers. Surely one damn rooster is enuff with Anasta. Pearce's attitude sux and that came thru strongly during the SOO. Son of sirro is enough nostalgia for me at present.

I disagree,we need Pearce more than we need Lewis,it would allow Benji to go back to 6,and Sirro to 3 or 13.
We still have Blair,Fulton, heighno,Pettybourne,Thompson,Anasta and BMM who play backrow next year,so we are more than covered.

I never mentioned Lewis. It's just Pearce I have an issue with. He comes across as a spoilt twat, the antithesis of his old man. Yes a good half we need no doubt. Pearce just sh&ts me.

A figure of speech in which sharply contrasting ideas are juxtaposed in a balanced or parallel phrase or grammatical structure,

Now there's a word you don't hear everyday, notwithstanding I agree about Pearce, we need him more than Lewis, but he sh&ts me too. Maybe I could learn to love him????

I use it at least once a day.

Thesis>Antithesis>Synthesis.

...and so we progress.

But if you are the first grade coach at the Wests Tigers, you don't allow for the antithesis to get a look-in; and so we end up making a stupid offer to another player we don't need just because he happens to be on the market.

Mate if I learned to love Tezza Hill, Craig Field and Hoppa while they were at the Tigers, I think I can handle anyone.

I'd hardly say he 'stands out' at that level.

I'd rather a guy like Ellis, Gallen, Fulton who puts in week in week out all over the park, not like show ponies such as Lewis and Blair who only come to life when we are attacking inside the 22 or defending the line. Both look for the hero plays and don't do enough hard work for mine.
