Post Match Function - Eels v Bulldogs

A post match function will be held at ANZ Stadium following Sunday's First Grade clash between the Pirtek Parramatta Eels and the Bulldogs.

The function is due to start at 5.30pm and will be held on the North West Terrace. Please note the function is for Season Ticket Holders and the Blue & Gold Army only. You will need to show your card to gain access.

The NRL & Toyota Cup squads will available for a meet & greet as soon as is practical after the conclusion of First Grade.

Further information will be made available at www.parraeels.com.au as they come to hand..

So that is the Cauldron Bar (the North West). Up the Staircase Behind Aisles 126 and 127. I just hope they also let me in with my Gold membership like the do the other home teams. But YAY!!!!! Membership has it rewards.

If we are really on our game we will have a membership stall set-up at Asile 127's Merchindise Stand, flogging off Blue and Gold Army memberships, Pre-Packaged and ready to go, so if people want to attend but arn't members they can do so. Just purchase your B&G Army membership and your away.

Now some other news from the ANZ Stadium Website, and I might have to post another thread about it as well but for those of you going out to the game.

Look I think this is great news, Considering that it is a Sunday when we traditionally hold Post Match Functions, it is at ANZ which has these spaces available to use, and considering we get paid to play at ANZ you would think these would also be at no cost and having been in the bar before (Australia Vs Bahrain) it is a nice big space with a bar and it is open air but still undercover, it seems the stars have aligned. I would hope if this goes well we might get another one at our Next Eels home game @ ANZ Vs the Bunnies, even though that is on a Friday Night.

Hope??? It should be standard...... 3P are promising after match functions after every game.

Good news.

Shows that getting things done to improve things isn't always about election results.

Keep posting the ideas on here - like everyone was doing well before any election teams were known, and managers will read them and (hopefully) get them happening.

I agree Bart that it is good news, but I have my doubts whether the momentum would building if there WASN'T an election coming up.

To be honest, I don't think this has anything to do with the Directors. Things like this come down to managers and the lead they take. A guy called Ross Smart moved into position mid last year (I think) and things have gotten steadily better in the fan relations things since then, regardless of election.

Credit where it's due to Ross. We bag out the club loads (often deservedly), but we don't often acknowledge when they/managers do good things. We'll have the same managers regardless of the coming election result... best to celebrate the good ones, rather than think Directors/3P have super powers they just don't or won't have.

Yeah Bart, I agree, Rosco arrived in February last year, so after a settling in period things have gotten much better. I also think that having a new General Manager of football operations in Andrew Hill doesn't hurt or having NYC team manager Gareth Holmes on board either. Both of whom I might add, received a copy of the report as well as Ross.

Also, considering this is the First Sunday Home game after our last Post Match Function. Which was also held before 3P announced itself.

Ross Smart started before the 2008 Season.

I'm sure MITS can confirm this

And where do they get that lead from? You can't tell me that pressure hasn't been put on Ross, or to put it succinctly, that Ross hasn't heard the cry of the fans, and that they have decided to do something that has been severely lacking over the years. If anything, it's due to the pressure from not only a fans report, but an upcoming election and a decent opposition.

Things have also improved since the abovementioned mentioned heat was put on them.

Whoever said that?? :?

As I said, I applaud them for doing this. I'm just cynical as to why it has now happened, when it was actually dissed a few years ago. Not convinced that it is all Ross's doing, as you are making out, but hey, that's just my opinion.

Yep Jodeci, MITS has confirmed above.

As fanms we've seen peaks and troughs in terms of fan relations over the years - a lot dependent upon the staff and managers in the roles rather than who happened to be on teh Board at the time. I do believe that some of the managers (on the football side of things) in years gone by have been underperforming, or have been performing under a budget not appropriately directed toward these parts of the clubs operations, at the ultimate expense of the fan experience.

Ross' job is safe regardless of the election - as are all of the club managers, for a significant amount of time under the protections of current employment laws. Anyone thinking things like after match functions will change instantly as soon as new Directors come to power either has little understanding of how large organisations with Boards actually work, is reading too much into 3P's current LC election promises (the Blue and Gold Print), or is being a little michieveous with their spin.

I would believe Ross has heard the cry of the fans. I think he heard that well before any election, or any pressure being felt in the lead up to an election. The timing of Ross receiving "the report" as detailed above, and the steps taken to hold one (yes, only one but its a start) after match function last season show that ROss would have been - and still will be - charting his course regardles sof the election.

People may not have spotted it, but Ross has published his email on the offical Eels website (freshly relaunched this year due to NRL partnership with Telstra, not the LC election ) and encourages fans to make contact with ideas.

Whoever said that?? :?
Um, Jake. Post #4. Anyone believing that as soon as 3P win the election we will suddenly have (more) after match functions than we are/were going to have anyway this season is fooling themselves, or building up to some disappointment down the track.

Not convinced that it is all Ross's doing, as you are making out, but hey, that's just my opinion.
I'm not sure there is enough of an undersrtanding of the importance of these things at a higher level of management than Ross... otherwise as you said it might have happened earlier. So credit to Ross, who like Trish Sinclair (?) way before him, seems to be doing a good job in his role, regardless of perceived pressure and perceptions of motive.

Does anyone know when the last trains leave Olympic Park Station? I am assuming that with the Show on , the trains should be running all night. I just think if ANZ management want the public to use public transport (which I intend to do ) then we shouldn't be stranded if we stay until anything up to 7pm

CANT WAIT.

How is MITS not a mod on this forum? Really beyond me....

This bloke is one of our main sources of legit information, and gives us updates on nearly every lower grade competition.

He doesn't get enough credit for the work he puts in imo.

I appreciate all your work Mark, just so you know.

It's amazing how people spin things eh Bart? ;-)
Who said Ross's job wasn't safe?? :?

MITS provides invaluable input to this site - something we are all greatful of and appreciative of.

How that makes him a particular candidate to be a mod has me lost though.
There are plenty of well grounded, honest, intelligent people here who could be one. In fact, we have 5 of them already.

How does MITS differ from the current mods?

Reward and Recognition. Something we need.

Without MITS on here, half of us wouldn't know whats going on with our junior teams. I know Stagger has some excellent input but MITS is our go to man.

Not taking credit away from the work Jess,Nikki & friends do, they are just as good with consistent updates and photos of Wenty and other events.
