Yeah Bart, I agree, Rosco arrive in February last year, so after a settling in period things have gotten much better. I also think that having a new General Manager of football operations in Andrew Hill doesn't hurt or having NYC team manager Gareth Holmes on board either. Both of whom I might add, received a copy of the report as well as Ross.

Also, considering this is the First Sunday Home game after our last Post Match Function. Which was also held before 3P announced itself.

Well done on the after match function. Does not only have to be after Sundays though Mark, and not only to season ticket holders, but credit where credit is due, a great start.

It's amazing how people spin things eh Bart? ;-)
Who said Ross's job wasn't safe?? :?

Um, does every new point I introduce in a post have to be assumed to stem from something someone else has said, or be questioned if it isn't a direct rebuttal of something?

Has simple face value gone missing lately... :?

How does MITS differ from the current mods?

Reward and Recognition. Something we need.

Without MITS on here, half of us wouldn't know whats going on with our junior teams. I know Stagger has some excellent input but MITS is our go to man.

Not taking credit away from the work Jess,Nikki & friends do, they are just as good with consistent updates and photos of Wenty and other events.

That's all fine and dandy, but your link to him being a mod still has me baffled. Not saying he's not worthy. In fact, Mits would be a terrific Mod, I have no doubt about that. I just find your logic very strange.

I could easily name another couple of dozen other people who are equally capable.
Don't forget, you are not given mod status as a reward.

No, but why say it if you aren't trying to make a point?
All it does is create an impression in minds not as thinking as yours, which I'm sure you weren't trying to do. ;-)

So, answer the question? Who stated his job was on the line, and if nobody did, why mention it?

You're talking bollocaks again Suity. I was raising it as a point - very separate to needing to justify doing so based on whether anyone else has said anything about it. :?

Why mention it? To demonstrate that a change of Directors doesn't equal a sudden change in Managers, or Managers styles and abilities. I didn't think that was particularly hard to grasp for anyone reading, let alone yourself with your understanding.

Fishy goosed himself royally in a thread last week in assuming that just because he posts opinions with particular one-sided spin in mind, that everyone else was doing likewise too. Eventually he had the decency to ask my actual position, I explained it to him, and he pulled his head in in terms of response style, at least to my posts.

Don't become another victim of being weakly argumentative for the sake of it Suity, or for the sake of spin. It doesn't behoove you.... To the casual reader perhaps Fishy and yourself may be pushing votes away from 3P with such hollow, argumentative approaches, instead of simply having discussions at face value about the points themselves, whenever points are made or raised?

Sorry Bart, but has it actually occurred to you that I might just have exactly the same opinion, and consider some things that you post are hollow and argumentative?
Is it actually possible, in you mind, that I might feel the same way?

Sorry Suity, it's possible.

But then I'm not the one in this thread implying that people aren't allowed to make a post/raise a point unless it is in direct response to something someone else must have already said...

I put my view about how its good to see the club (through one manager) do some things, and ho wwe should step out of election mode and recognise that. You've disagreed. That's all fine. People disagree all the time.

I'm simply taking issue with the style of how you are going about disagreeing lately, rather than your right to hold and state a different position to mine on the issue. I only see this style come out when someone makes a statement in response to something raised re 3P. Other people have identified the vibe of the forum in that sense recently in other threads.

If you have a problem with my opinion, or my style in making opinions, come out and say it. Be like Fishy and accuse me of "cheering for" or "spinning for" one side or the other, and then like Fishy eat humble pie when I explain to you which candidates (friom both sides *gasp*) I'm leaning toward voting for at the moment, and why that is.

You have accused my post of "create an impression in minds not as thinking" which is terribly condescending to the readers of the forum, and fails to acknowledge that impressions lie within the reader of a message, and will differ from person to person - which my post above attempted to point out re the recent approach of you and Fishy to posts in relation to the election.

I've stepped out of the Election sticky as there's no actual info fiorthcoming there anymore, but I stand by my right to express an opinion without it having to be in relation to something someone else had previously said . This place would never have any new threads if that was the go .

Does anyone know when the last trains leave Olympic Park Station? I am assuming that with the Show on , the trains should be running all night. I just think if ANZ management want the public to use public transport (which I intend to do ) then we shouldn't be stranded if we stay until anything up to 7pm

I was at Olympic Park on Monday Night for the Dogs Vs Rabbitohs game, (hey free tickets). So I went out for a 7 PM kick off game, then after the game I normally hang around for about 10 minutes or so to let the crowd move off, and then I walked to the Car Park Bus (I was over in car park 5). The Public transport busses were still going (that is next to Acer Area) so I can only assume yep the Public Transport will be going till at least 9 or even later.

Mate, all I've said is I question the motivation of why these after match functions are now raising their heads. I've always admitted that I'm cynical.
Why is it beyond you to allow me to have my say, without raising issues, that aren't relevant - hence the "Ross Smarts job is not on the line" quote. I'm still wondering why that was even brought up? Nobody, till that stage, and as far as I'm aware, still hasn't, even questioned that line.
I honestly believe what I said - these sorts of functions are now only being held for two reasons.
1. The fans report brought to the club an unhapiness with what the club was then providing.
2. The desire to get these functions happening again COULD be motivated by an upcoming election.

Now Bart, I understand that you may not agree with that. That's fine. It's what I think.

I'll say it again. Well done club. It is a move in the right direction.

You're kidding right? How did I not allow you to have your say? You're the one that started to question my say in this thread, seemingly because you couldn't understand why that comment was relevant.

I've then given you an explanation as to why I mentioned that managers will still be in their jobs post election - did you read it, respond to it? Or just continue to question my right to say something that no-one else had directly said the opposite of?

Nobody, till that stage, and as far as I'm aware, still hasn't, even questioned that line.
And why is that a problem to you? Why is that relevant? Why did you go off on a tangent to question whether someone should make a point that no-one else has mentioned. Oops, I better not be the first to mention Hindy isn't in the 11 this week, until someone else mentions it... but they can't mention it because no-one else has. Do you see how silly that bit is, and why I've been taking it up?

I honestly believe what I said - these sorts of functions are now only being held for two reasons.

That's great. And fine. And it doesn't matter if people disagree. But if you'd simply left it like that after we'd both passed our opinion - instead of attempting to not allow me to make a point that someone else hadn't specifically said in a thread - then we wouldn't have had this dribble in the first place.

Well done on the after match function. Does not only have to be after Sundays though Mark, and not only to season ticket holders, but credit where credit is due, a great start.

You know when I first raised this issue at the 2006 football club AGM my main goal has always been for the fans that might come down for the big games, to get to speak with the players, so I can take the idea of it being open to all comers. However I still would hope distance fans would be members to support their club and enjoy this privilege when they did come down.

However I think Sundays are the best time to have these sort of events. For many years now we have heard a great tide of support for a day Grand Final, so the kids can see it and then get to bed on time or indeed go down the leagues club and celebrate. Going to Parramatta games when I was young in that great 1986 season the After game functions were always about the kids meeting the players. I wonder how many Kids would be at a post match function held after a Friday Night game or a Saturday night 7:30 game or a Monday night game.

Wouldn't it better if we had the after match functions which are actually played at Parra stadium so people can go to the club and spend their money inside the club and support the club that way??? Why at ANZ, why not at Parra Leagues???

That is certainly a 3P policy. I've heard them say this myself.

It is in their current Blue and Gold Print though? A lot's been said generally dating back to November, but the current policies are what I'm perosnally looking at.

I think current club policy anyway (since mid-last year) is to have these at Parra Leagues when we play on Sunday at Parra Stadium 9which isn't often thanks to Channel 9/Foxtel).

Myself and others have suggested it can be done in Sterlos after night games, even if done informally and started up by the fans (as we have been trying to do through threads on here this year). It doesn't have to wait for an election imo.

I am sure if there was a Sunday game at Parramatta Stadium there would be a post match function back at Parramatta leagues. We have been told Sunday games have a smaller effect on overall revenue vs Night games at Parramatta Stadium. Still it means hiring extra security though out the club as after games is the worst period for fights in the leagues club itself. Which is part of the reason Kicks/X-cite/Huug was shut down as the security costs and the number of incidents were actually out stripping the benefits in terms of revenue, and giving the club a bad reputation.

How long have I been telling you about this....

That the Dragons do this after every Home game at both Wollongong and Kogarah. It's a crowd favourite.

The bar is open for adults and the odd face painting for the kids and also lucky door prizes plus games inside until the team arrives where they hand out the Man of the Match award and get the players to talk on the microphone from both the Toyota Cup and NRL Side.

Only Season Ticket Holders and RED V Members are allowed to attend.

I have said this from Day 1, The Dragons have the BEST Membership Campaign and make sure the Benefits are what you actually pay for/worth compared to the Rubbish we receive.

I was gunna give this game a miss and go and watch Wenty. But for the aftermatch function alone I will now attend ANZ. Not so much to see the players, as I can do that any game, but to support the efforts that the club are now making. We have to embrace this and actually show up in numbers so the club can see that they are doing the right thing.

Is this for all games at other teams home grounds, or just Homebush?

Stuff Homebush.
