I reckon Farah is good enough, however I can't see Ennis being dropped.

Galloway is definitely good enough, but I dare say he'll miss out. If NSW lose the first game, then these two could be inclusions.

Lawrence is also good enough, and is a outside chance, Can't see the Blues supporters going past Jennings, Cooper and the Morris' twins, Lyon, among others.

-jennings is ruled out for round one,
-the country origin board is pushin for cooper to be banned from round 1
-josh morris is injured
- i think lyon may be the 5/8?

and in my oppion no one else has the talent besides the names listed above to fill the spot?

We arent Origin tough at the Tigers...never been what
you'd call physical, tough or dominating as a team or
individual players...you dont get that by
playing ''you score 32, we'll get 33''.

We've been getting tougher though.

This year's pack compared to many in the past is definitely much bigger, stronger and stands up a lot more. We have some big boppers in both the backline and pack. I guess the flamboyancy and it's ill effects will haunt us for a while though.

galloway is our best chance. i think weyman and perry will start with galloway and white on the bench. perry plays very short minutes so they'll need to pick 2 props on the bench

if lawrence has a blinder in CvC he might jag a spot

farah will depend on who the halfback is, if its kimmorley they'll pick ennis, if its anyone else i think farah will get the nod

Sounds like QLD for the last 4 years. That's been a f**king disaster for them.

But we should pick more defensive players and bank on Slater, Hodges, Inglis, Folau, Tuqiri, Lockyer and Thurston not scoring.

Doesn't mean it will happen.

Yet in your very next post you select Lyon in Centres. Idiot.

Also, Jennings has been named in the City team and is not on the Panthers injury list.

And it's spelt LAWRENCE

While I'm at it, It's spelt GALLOWAY

It's almost as bad misspelling FARAH.

Cooper and Lyon in the centres and I wouldn't be surprised to see Bird, Soward or Carney in the number 6, with Gidley in the 7, or some such thing.

Off the top of my head.

1 - Hayne
2 - Morris
3 - Lyon
4 - Cooper
5 - Jennings
6 - Bird
7 - Gidley
13 - Gallen
12 - Watmough
11 - Lewis
10 - Perry
9 - Ennis
8 - Weyman

14 - Laffranchi
15 - Mason
16 - Waterhouse
17 - Carney

As much as it looks rubbish, I wouldn't be surprised if this is what selectors go for, or at least something similar.

Agreed on both counts. Bird seems to be lock-in selection although his form this season hasn't set the world on fire (having said that, for some reason he always raises it a couple notches with a rep jumper on). They surely can't flick Gidley completely, when he's the incumbent captain and the face of the advertising. Having said that, I still think they'll put him at fullback to start with, with Kimmorley at 7 & Hayne on the wing (with Jennings dropping off) - they need a specialist halfback and they'd have plenty of flexibility with Carney on the bench should they need to change mid-game.

As for Tigers, the only player I'd go close to naming a certainty is Galloway. Needs a big city country and some good club form to secure his spot but is playing as consistently well as any other prop. Farah won't be selected for game 1 and Lawrence would have to have multiple blinders to get ahead of the rest. But they're the only 3 Tigers that are likely to be looked at during the series.

Dont think WT has any real shot at a player for Origin level- selectors seem to favour other clubs. The only exceptions maybe Farah and Lawrence but Farah had a shot and was displaced by Ennis. Ennis now has the inside running for hooker, Lawrence would only be a very rough shot for centre. Galloway maybe too.

WT are not trained for the knock em down, endurance, armwrestles that SOO provides.

Now imagine a few decades ago:

Balmain- Roach, Sironen, Elias, Jack etc

Wests- Donnelly, Gibbs, Boyd, Raudonikas etc

We could have fielded a SOO team between us.
