Will Smith was great for us in 2021 .... but dunno where he is at now? Last year was a write off for him ..... if he is still able to contribute what he did in 2021 he is easily f**kloads better as a #14 than anything we have ... but prob more $$$s too

He is 30yrs old. Can cover fullback, centre, halves, hooker. Genuine utility. Would cost at a guess about 150-200k

Hodgson at best stays fit and plays 60 mins a week. The odds of him breaking down are quite high. Either way we need someone for 20mins. It's either Rein,Asi or JA at this stage. I've not seen Asi. But JA can't even play the position he is trying to master at NRL level. All of a sudden he is a hooker option and utility?

Utilities are guys who have a lot of talent but just not good enough for one. Guys like Tyrone Peachey for example. The whole JA debate - Turn him into a forward, He is a utility is a load of horse shit.

At this stage he is just a kid that most likely isn't good enough to make it in the NRL.
It isn't like he has so much talent and power he needs to find another position. Unless he makes it as a halfback why would you wate your time on him.

Do you really think it’s outside the realm of possibility for JA to be our starting 7 in 2024 if Moses doesn’t sign? I’d like to think it is, but I think it’s certainly an option BA would consider.

I hope not...

I hear Mitchell Pearce wants 1 more year in the NRL before he quits maybe he is a 1 year option If Moses runs off.

Maybe we can swap JA for Pearce now 😂

Yes. Just athletic ability like size power and speed. You can't teach that. Why Betham and Maetele stood out. They have it.
I admit i didnt watch the game closely ... i didnt think Maetele did much, but he ran a decent decoy to give Cini a bit of 1-on-1 room for his try ... little off the ball things like that are a good sign for a youngster. Not just after his own highlights.

Is this the journo trying to push the idea that our backups should dictate Moses’ price?

Sports media sells melodrama to bogans. You are lapping it up.
I didn't pick that up at all...? I read the article as a review of the match - which I clicked and read because it was of interest in the hour or two after the match had concluded.

"They conceded two length-of-the-field tries after coughing up the ball while pressing the Panthers’ line and it was largely due to the indecision of their halves."

Wasn't it due to Hodgson going for the glory play on the Penrith tryline, and then Greig throwing a shit pass behind everyone on a shift play?

"The selection of Arthur, son of coach Brad Arthur, ignited a barrage of criticism last season and his performance on Saturday will do nothing to quell it."

Sports 'journos' obviously read social media. How else to figure out the best way to stir up the bogans.
The journo seems to be linking the indecision shown by the halves to the choices made by other players in the face of that indecision i.e. "largely due to". Do try and keep up!

As for the second quote from the article - do you disagree? Did Jake's performance do anything to quell criticism for the coach's tactic of his NRL selections last year?

In other posts you still seem to be at great pains trying to justify that (and Jake's potential inclusion at NRL level this year), but will change position like the wind when the coach (rightly, and as the coach has already indicated) has other plans.
