It was like we even trained for it, and we all know it isn’t the coaches job.i do like that the edges didnt looked panicked facing an overlap like they have over the course of the last few years

Doorey is a sloth. A lot of the players look much fitter this year but he’s not one of them.Doorey is a reserve grader at best if he plays more then 5 games we are in massive trouble.
Got no idea why we gave him another 2 years another puzzling extension that didn't make sense at the time.
I assume he took a pay cut for the extra year but that's not the point.
It clogs up top 30 spots with garbage you dont want to be using

He missed 2 tackles, Williams missed 3 tackles, Hopgood/Matterson 2 each, all 3 have shit load more experience in the middle at NRL level then Doorey, who is only just moving into the middle position.
What’s his WPYSA18 or whatever the f**k you called it?Yeah I reckon Doorey is a smokey to be a regular off the bench. He’s always been powerful but just lacked the agility for edge defence. I assumed he didn’t work hard enough for the middle but he went hard in this last trial. If he can play like that every week he might become a first grader.
He has had a lot of injuries last few years...What’s his WPYSA18 or whatever the f**k you called it?
Everyone has seen he can be an awesome edge runner, his problem since we signed him at least has been he makes poor initial contact in defence and has no fitness so is constantly left on the ground.
I don’t think making him a middle will fix it enough plus it negates his strength in running. I reckon what we’ve seen so far in his career is what he’ll achieve going forward
It’s possible, but also possible he just needs an extended run without injury, if that is even possible. Thus far it hasn’t been possible for him to play more than 20 games in a season, across both grades. Developing fitness and form under those conditions is impossible! What’s his WPYSA18 or whatever the f**k you called it?

Of course its a small sample, against average opposition and it could be a big failure...good chance it might..
But his fitness didn't seem to be an issue, he made 28 tackles.....up there with Williams / Hopgood.
And his "strength", his running, seem to transfer to middle quite nicely...he made 115m, the best of all our forwards, 10.45 m per run, the second best of our forwards behind Latu (31 m / 2 runs)..
Anyhow time will tell, but looks promising..
So it looks like has improved, made more tackles, less misses.....and metres per run is better....Made 5 runs for 50 meters in the trial last year and also made 21 tackles with 3 missed.. Still wasn't up to first grade standard all of last year..

anyhow, as I said he has had lots of injuries, not much luck in having an injury free season... he pretty much suffered a facial fracture in the early rounds last year:
