Well done to the Maggies. Manly have been going very well this season as well. One of the only two sides to have knocked over Parra thus far in 2006.
Must have been a close game I suppose.........

Three sides now ;-) Balmain 24 Parra 16 :D

The final score in the maggies match was 32-18 so not especially close in the end, it was certainly a good effort by the pies.

The Wests Magpies kicked off the very wet round 14 of the VB Premier League with their second win of the season, defeating Manly-Warringah 32 - 18 at Brookvale Oval on Friday.

On Saturday, home teams, Newtown , St Mary's Penrith and South Sydney were all too strong for their visiting opponents in relatively high scoring and free flowing games despite the near torrential downpour.

Balmain Ryde-Eastwood Tigers confirmed their outright second spot, and sent a warning to current leaders Parramatta with a convincing 24 to 16 victory on Sunday at Parramatta Stadium, whilst in the Queen's Birthday Monday match, the Bulldogs were too strong for the Canberra Raiders, winning 32 to 20.

Round 14 Results:
Friday June 9:
Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles 18 lost to Wests Magpies 32 at Brookvale Oval

Saturday June 10:
Newtown Jets 28 defeated Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks 10 at Henson Park
St Mary's Penrith Cougars 20 defeated St George-Illawarra Dragons 14 at CUA Stadium
South Sydney Rabbitohs 20 defeated North Sydney Bears 12 at Telstra Stadium

Sunday June 11:
Parramatta Eels 16 lost to Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers 24 at Parramatta Stadium

Monday June 12:
Bulldogs 32 defeated Canberra Raiders 20 at The Crest Oval

In other Saturday afternoon games, Newtown, Manly-Warringah and Parramatta were all too strong for their opponents, racking up over 50 points each.

On Sunday, the St George-Illawarra Dragons proved to be too strong for the visiting Canberra Raiders at Oki Jubilee, running out 50 - 30 victors, whilst the St Mary's-Penrith Cougars came home with two premiership points after their visit to North Sydney Oval.

Round 15 Results:
Saturday June 17:
Newcastle Knights 25 lost to Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers 30 at EnergyAustralia Stadium

I have heard that Blayden Baird has been selected in the Bears Premier League side this week up from Jersey Flegg.

He played for the Central Coast Rip last year.

Would he be the first player from the Rip who has gone on to make Premier League?

No, Grant Millington who plays Flegg and Premier League for the Roosters is originally from the Rip.

Ok thanks. Did Millington ever play Flegg for the Rip?

What years did Millington play there? I'm pretty sure he played Harold Matthews for the Central Coast Bears.

How long have the Rip had a Flegg team?
