Fair enough, but if they were playing tonight, unfortunately my money would be on Brisbane - McGuire, Thaiday, Parker, Hannant, et al would dominate imo

Back to the original post though, was there a time frame around said "news", I am waiting patiently

Seriously Lion you don't rate Lillyman, as you don't list him and he has easily been our best prop all year. Clearly the Queensland Origin and Aussie selectors rate him more than you do.

Yeah I should of put Lillyman in under consistent. But I dont think he is a premier NRL prop - good fill in off the bench. Dream on if you think he will play for Australia. Being named in 40man train on squads is different to the top 17

Regarding Storm players, Maloney was sitting behind Cronk wasn't he there when he signed with us?
Agree that Danger and Lowrie have been duds for us.

Nitpicking but Hoffman should make it 2 and 2.

Wish we had someone of the ilk of a Tawera Nikau coming up through the grades in NZ. What happened to those breed of players here?

Some of you guys are funny. I always hear that the Warriors are miles under the cap, yet you think you have a top 4 team. Pick one, you can't have both.

And the hits keep on coming. Clueless.

Lillyman and Mannering are obviously in the elite NRL players in their positions, and they're the only two on this year's work... Matulino is the other one that should be, but he's been ordinary this year

I don't think there's a gulf in talent between Broncos and Warriors, but there's a mile in difference between the two mentalities of the squad. Broncos rarely give up, they're not easily intimidated, and it doesn't matter who they're playing.

No I know he won't play for Australia, I wouldn't be surprised if he makes the actual squad though.

Props id take in a heart beat before Lillyman - Props I would class as elite. (who would you keep Lillyman against - probably none right ?)

Matt Scott
James Tamou
George Burgess
Jesse Bromwich
JWH
Sam Moa
Ben Hannant
James Graham
Sam Kasiano
Andrew Fafita
Nate Myles

2nd tier props who sill offer more than Lillyman ball in hand and hitting the line.

Ashton Sims
Jordon Mclean
George Rose
Dylan Napa
Remi Casty
Martin Kennedy
Josh McGuire
Tim Grant
Brent Kite
Sam McKendry
Ben Murdoch Masila
Nigel Plum
Brenton Lawrence
Greg Eastwood
Lloyd Perrett
Aiden Tolman
Willie Mason
Fuifui Moimoi
Tim Mannah
Sam Tagatesese
Trent Merrin
Paul Vaughan

Lillyman is NOT a elite player - he is a stock standard NRL level Prop, nothing more.

Why do you add something of substance then instead of your constant answers that dont really relate to the core question. What does Lillyman bring to the table over those other props ?

I don't argue with complete nonsense, to answer your first question.

But lets have a go anyway just for kicks.

Its already been said really, Lillyman is a successful Origin level prop, considered as part of the wider Kangaroos squad and our best forward of the season by a country mile.

He's perhaps not at the very top level in the NRL, but to call him a bench sub is so delusional its not even funny.

Metres. Simple as that. In average metres per run he beats George Burgess, Jesse Bromwich, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Sam Moa, Ben Hannant, James Graham, Andrew Fifita & Nate Myles. Burgess, Fifita & Bromwich average more metres per game (and more minutes per game) - but Lillyman has the rest covered there too. Now I'll grant you metres aren't absolutely everything for a prop... but they are very significant. Lillyman combines that with a low error rate and a decent effective tackle rate.

I'm not even going to bother arguing the top list. I could make pretty good arguments for a few of them, but why bother. But the bottom list? You must be on some pretty great drugs if you actually think most of those guys are better props than Lillyman. I'm feeling generous (and somewhat lazy) so I'll give you Vaughan, Merrin & McGuire with Tolman, Kite & McLean coming in around the same as Lillyman. The rest? No. Just no. Not even close.

So you think Lillyman makes more metres, off loads, tackles and line breaks than those guys in the 2nd list ?

Definitely more meters, he was top 3 or so for props in meters per game and total meters when I last checked (just post origin I think). He tackles a fair bit and well.

Line breaks? Why don't you add kick meters while you are at it.

Is Iron Lion another sock-puppet of the guy who brought us Albert Rosenfield?

Rating Remi Casty above Lillyman? Hilarity.

 Lillyman belongs in that first list, Kasiano does not (Tolman does)...

But this post does sum you up rather nicely... some funny stuff in that second list, along with the likes of Merrin and Tolman
