You want to but Fa'alogo to sleep? Good luck
I work in Secure facilities. With the criminally insane.
He's a big strong fit football player. Seen plenty of those.....seen plenty of those get a good hiding too.
( He's actually a lot smaller than me ).
In a real Man kills another man environment these footy players are...well out of their depth (look at what Monty Betham Junior....son of the great Monty the Boxer could do to his footballing peers with some basic combo training and bag work from his dad) .
Size means nothing. The worst hiding I've ever had was from a small SAS man.
Speed kills / intent/ training / first in with lethal force ( premeditation and planning )/ man with the technological advantage...people amping on stimulants like Meth and some others.
I've seen people like him throw their weight around against men who didn't stand a chance more than most people have had hot dinners.
I have no time for people like that. Violence sucks and Bullies are the worst part of it.
I would wager given the choice of being around people that want to kill him all day for fifteen years ( an average day at work for me ), versus playing a game of Rugby league , that like most heroe's like him he would choose the latter.
( life is relative. There are people who have done far worse than me for a living....like our service men and women for example....some teachers in South Auckland Schools, victims of Extreme Violence. )
Going off topic here but the event that inspired me to work where I do was a double murder when I was younger that I escaped from in a country pub in New Zealand.
Staying alive in that situation I figured I had a talent for survival in stressful situations, and a curiosity to understand why gunmen do stuff like that ( the field of psychiatry that specialises in that stuff is called Forensics....there are forensic services in the main centers of NZ )
Auckland has the Mason Clinic
Waikato Henry Bennett center
Wanganui has a community based unit
Lake Alice was the former National secure unit ( NSU " The block " the most intimidating place this country has ever seen and most have never heard of, now closed and patients rellocated to the regional services )
Wellington has Kenepuru.
The South Island has a service in Christchurch.
Maximum / Medium secure prisons Like Paremoremo and Mt Eden have special wings. Round rooms which separate certain inmates from main stream.
Anyway the thing about footy players and the biff and all that tosh is that really....truly....they should leave the fighting to the fight sports ( really they should not be exempt from the law of the land if you really think about it ).
I'm not saying I could beat anyone in the NRL in a fight. No one knows what skills or attributes the other person has.
There is the element of chance too. Heck I've worked with Women who were victims of violence by partners who were feared in the Gang world....some of those Women ended up seeing those blokes get the surprise of their lives when they woke up stabbed.
Lots of variables.
All I meant by my comment is if I saw someone like that beating up a little guy I would want to put them to sleep for it. That's human nature.
Wanting and being sure you can are two different things ( I've had several hundred scraps and I've never been sure of ' winning ' any of them, what is winning anyway ? ...staying alive against someone superior to fight another day....or pummeling and humiliating someone ).
Winning is dying of old age in your sleep without any awards or medals....having talked your way out of fighting.
By the way I hope we do sign Steve Matai....the rumor mill is all a buzz with suggestions that it may happen ( I have no inside info on that one ).
