Sorry EF01, you are on your own on this one.

A Brief Story.

After the Melbourne game I was out the back and shook the hands of the players as they went past. DK had a chat with me, he asked what I though, I said, great effort, Poor Execution and Stupid Mistakes.

So I called Ovo last week and he told me CC had blown him up, about what I said and some of the players heard it and were upset.

On Monday night sitting up in the grand stand, with my head on the railing, I said to my Mother "Tell me I was wrong about the effort / execution thing"(this was when we were down 12 - 0). She told me she couldn't.

This bunch are in f**king denial. They aren't fired up, they don't get fired up. If they were fired up against Melbourne they would have won. The same can be said for many other games, and if they lead at half time, they don't go in for the kill.

You can't win a comp by being half arsed. So that I think that they will still have people trying to get them ready. But then again Look at south side Story last week. JT Said to his players afterwards, Yes Be disappointed, but then get over it as we have to play again next week.

Good on ya MITS. I can't believe I said that. You really impressed me this time. :)

Oh Sh*t I just has a very disturbing thought.

If our attitude is so bad that even MITS has got a personal experience in regards to it, BOY have we got major 'chip on one's shoulders' problems.

I think they are trying hard but it's like a guy trying to enter a building. Unless you find the right way through, you will end up bashing your head against a wall no matter how hard you try.

They are trying hard and defending well enough, but after last week I now agree with you we need some more variety and players in motion. I am holding onto hope we may see somthing special on sunday, although the broncs have been solid in defence lately.

Robert Finch was on NRL on Fox last night and was talking about video ref and the overall interpretations that we are seeing these days. Examples were given about obstruction, grounding the ball and 'knock ons' where the player doesnt actually go for the ball. Hayne and Inu were used as recent examples of obstruction and grounding respectively.

Anyways, my point is, Finch Snr made a comment about how their is so many more decoy runs in the game these days and how it is getting harder for the refs to accurately adjudicate, etc, etc and my immediate thought was "so more in the game but very little from Parramatta"

As mentioned in a different thread, we dont run decoy plays often, we simlpy dont have people in motion around the ball. Hell, even Timmy's propensity to throw a flat (forward) pass is not because he wants to, its cause the outside men arent standing deep and running onto the ball.

And I have scratched my head a million times (nothing to do with dandruff or knits) and asked myself why we don't.

I have no answer.

sunday is their last wake up call and after sitting in the top 4 for weeks on end to not even make it to the semis would be a bloody disgrace BUT if they are in denial, if they think everything is still all champagne and roses after slipping so far and (god forbid) still cling to the idiotic and self deluded notion that to win all they have to do is turn up then maybe crashing and burning is the only thing that will bring them back to reality its a bloody high price to pay for self awareness though

I am with the rest of you. Monday night hurt -

lol, I lost $300 on Monday's game. How hard do you think that hurt?

As for decoys... we did use them somewhat when Burt was playing and he could sweep around the back off Finch. Now that he is out, we don't have that option and we are a lesser team for it.

On top of this, we don't have Burt loitering around the ruck and so our second phase play has suffered and as a result we have cut it back.

In short, we need Burt back. Plain and simple - he will change the team back to what it was 6 weeks-ish ago.

I think it's too hard to compare era's and wish for someone like price again. Back in those days the players played for the love of the game, the club and the glory of the premiership.
These days it's mostly about the $$$$. a players loyalty lies with whoever forks out the most cash for them in which case the heart is never really in it. Of course there are exceptions to the rule but not many. And the players are all prima donnas because they are put on a pedestal by the the clubs fans so they can't cop the criticism.
Whenever i used to play , if we lost the game i wouldn't speak to anyone for the next few hours cause i would be so pissed off. And that was just park footy. These guys seem to get over the game as soon as they walk off the field as it's just a job for them
