The Prime Minister’s XI team is:

Tim Paine (TAS - Captain) , Callum Ferguson (SA - Vice captain), Dan Christian (SA), Xavier Doherty (TAS), Josh Hazlewood (NSW), Alex Keath (VIC), Usman Khawaja (NSW), Brett Lee (NSW), Tom Thornton (ACT), Nic Maddinson (NSW), Mitchell Starc (NSW), Josh Anderson (ACT 12th man)

Good side didnt expect Hazlewood to get a run so soon after injury...

This side is hopefully picked as a trial game selection for the upcoming 7 ODIs vs the poms, and then from there a selection place in the world cup squad

Good to see Brett Lee there. I know he wants to be back in the ODI side. I think we will need a fit and in form Lee to retain the world cup. Hopefully Hazlewood can progress nicely as well

Hazlewood is out, replaced by Copeland and James Pattinson to replace someone else I think Starc?

Cricket Australia are doing the same type of thing they did with Clarke to Paine now. It won't work players need to earn there spot in the side and the captaincy FFS. DISASTER

Probably not the best format to see Copeland but hopefully the ground has the speed gun going to see how he goes pace wise.

Yeah, Paine is a class act in the shorter forms of the game but needs to convert 50's in the first class arena IMO.

Khawaja gone for 22. Paine brings up his 50 from 55 balls.

Match has been shortened to 44 overs a side due to rain.

Solid enough from Paine, would have no problem with him in the ODI side if hes playing like that. There have been times where he bats too slow.
