Copeland looked like an absolute bunny out there, even if today isn't his day he has shown nothing to suggest it was a disgrace to leave him out.

Bell is looking in real good nick here.

Over 11.3: Doherty to Davies, no run, OUT, advances and drives a catch straight to Ferguson at cover, well held! The new batsman is Jonathan Trott

I think its a disgrace that, despite a supurb first class record, hasnt been mentioned for A games etc. And I think 3 overs is hardly a fair judgement of a bowler.

He's a much better bowler in the longer form of the game anyway (which is why it was a surprise he was chosen for this one, after the injuries to Starc and Hazlewood, as he doesnt even play one day cricket for NSW).

Are you going to take to Aust selectors route and decide one day form = test form? Surely you arent that silly.

Copeland is an excellent first class bowler, sounds like he's bowling poorly today (as, it seems, everyone is) but he's not a one day bowler anyway.

LOL no, just all the jizz for Copeland is now all dried up. He will come good.

There was nothing about his action that suggests to me he's any better than Hilfenhaus, Harris, Johnson, Bollinger, Siddle or heck even Watson.

Maybe its a white ball thing? I dunno, but watching him bowl in first class cricket he seems alot better. He just puts it on the spot from a good height, getting a bit of bounce and movement in the process, and accordingly take wickets, numerous wickets. Not so much an action thing, although he is able to bowl long spells and has a very smooth action. Obviously the advantage of being able to bowl with slightly more attacking field helps him there but he's a bowler worth looking at in the first class form of the game.

He doesnt go near the NSW one day team anymore for a reason, however:) He's pretty much the anti-Bracken at this point

Sounds like he's bowling leg side rubbish today anyway, which is certainly not how he usually bowls.

He has a first class average of 19 and a one day average of 59 so do the math there he is a much better first class bowler than he is one day bowler but I've only watched him a handful of times in either format but it has been obvious to me he is better suited to the long format.

That maybe the case but even then you'd expect these over-hyped players to have some impact in this format, all Copeland did was serve up pies.

Only went for five runs off his next two overs, nice to see

and you can understand a bit of hype when a guys taken 60 wickets at an average of 19, doesnt happen every day.

lol are you serious? There are plenty of cricketers, especially bowlers, who don't do as good in either format. Brett Lee for example was a much better one day bowler than a test bowler.

Deary me, the umpire gets the 1st no ball wrong and what do you know he calls the next one and hes even further behind.

That's incredibly dodgy umpiring, which probably makes him international standard.

The thing was with Lee he at least demonstrated some potential as a test cricketer, it just wasn't his format.

Copeland just doesn't look up to standard.

You're basing this on one view of him.

Longer form of the game, good player, very good infact. If he keeps taking wickets for not many runs, as he has done so far, he'll get a look in the Australian side.
