Privatisation

Lets say some rich mongrel wanted to buy the Eels, what process would he have to go thru? How much do you think he would have to pay? would you as fan support privatisation?

I for one would, I think it would bring stability to our club, everyone would be answerable to him alone instead of a committee, and most likely may win a premiership in the first 5 years. Look at the Eagles as an example.

Oh Dear,

Arhhh I think we would almost certainly have to follow the souths model. But with the extra crease that the Football club does not have the licence for the NRL side and that would have to be transfered back first.

Cost? In the fair dinkum department, the costs that the league club has covered for the last 5 year upfront and that would be only for 75% of the club.

Also the Members would have to retain 25% ownership of the club as well.

Hehe, I actually spoke to a guy I know, very very very rich man, about buying ANZ Stadium so we could have some good seats (as a joke). He sat there, ummed and ahhhed till he finally said "na, I have no use for it"

I suspect the same would apply for a club too. Most rich moguls become rich buy saving money and wise investments, neither of which are associated with owning an League team.

Privatisation? lol

It looks like you only need to run the company that is major sponsor to start throwing your weight around and controlling the club.

If a sponsor isn't happy at the coach or club they can withdraw their money and we'll get a new sponsor. Why does this Prick from Pirtek get to have a say?
Sponsors shouldn't be on the board or part of the decision making process.

We may have had some leaks during the year but he just came out shooting his mouth off, what a wanker. With idiots like him and Osborne running the show the Eels will always be a rabble.

Pretty sure that John English is a Rooster Man, at least he was in the '70's - I guarantee you that.
Are you sure of that? He was always at parra games and recorded our club song, I've always thought he was a parra fanatic.

EDIT: Just checked his bio and he is definitely a parra tragic.
