Proud as Punch of the Guys

I honestly believe it was just the lack of experience and a great game by the Storm that kept us winning this game. And if the match was 90 minutes long we would have won.

Next year we will be stronger, I have no doubt of that. Not only with talent thanks to Poore, Shackleton and Tahu but with experience. Players like Mortimer, Keating, Inu, Reddy, Mateo, and Mannah will have gained A LOT from this game.

They gave us a great ride the last 3 months
They just might give us a great ride for 6 months next year

yep im happy we gave the premiership a real shake and even cam smith said at the end of the game he was sh*tting himself when we started to come back.

Shack, poore and tahu even humble coming into the squad next yr we will be a better side thats for sure.

They did you proud. No questioning the effort. I wish my club cared to put the effort in your guys do. Storm were just too strong, they're more seasoned than your team in these big games but this will be an experience you can learn from and help to go 1 better.

A couple of silly mistakes and lack of experience cost them this game , with 15 minutes to go i was just hopeing that it didn't become a flogging and yet they fought back and almost caused a boilover ......very proud of the way they battled to the death , hopefully the saying of you gotta lose one to win one comes to fruition next year for Hindy's sake .

Just watched the post match press conference. Ando and Cayless had a great dignity about them. Ando especially knocking back a hack's "What if" questions with "That's fantasy football. It didn't happen."

The club is in good hands. The foundations have been laid by Anderson and Osbourne for success. It will come soon.

Totally correct. I am more shattered for guys like Hindy, Cayless, Burt who have given their all to this club and came up runners up again. Can only imagine how they must be feeling. F**k I hope we do go all the way next year but who knows what the season will bring, f**k we may not be in a grand final for another 8 years for all we know. It's hard to be positive atm.

I was so proud of the team yesterday & how they went this year!!! They gave it their all & just came up short. After the bad start to the year nobody could have imagined that we would have got into the finals much less the grand final. The players have given us so much enjoyment over the past 15 weeks & I can't wait until the start of the 2010 season to cheer for them again. GO THE MIGHTY EELS FOREVER!!!
