I also got the ps4 controller early, but it doesn't come with the USB cord. Should I just presume that comes with the console?

We will have a small amount in stock on December 12th due to our second shipment having some people cancelling their preorders

Nah it will work.

I bought a third controller from overseas, which works perfectly.

Also you can use any cable in the meantime, as long as it fits the usb and the controller port. I use my Galaxy S4 phone cable to charge one of my controllers.

I never got a call from JB Hi Fi, but went past today (Broadway) and thought I would ask how long it would take before I got one. They had them available and I paid the remainder on the spot and now have a PS4 in my possession.

I suggest if you have preordered, to contact your JB shop and find out if they are in a similar situation.

Early next year. Maybe March.

Its crazy how little stock is available.

Dick smith still accepting pre orders for xmas release

Has sony said why there is stuff up with stock? Is dick smith really still doing that? I swear I saw a sign saying it won't be getting stock until 2014. I'll get one if I can get it this month

Got mine the other day. I've set it up and it's good to go. I have COD Ghosts and AC Black Flag ready to go. Still have to finish Arkham Origins first on PS3.

It's a slick design and the interface for some reason reminds me of the PS1. Can't really explain why.

The stuff up is because Sony want to beat xbox in USA and UK before anywhere such as Australia. It looks like they are outselling them 3:2 or 2:1. Of the 2.1m PS4s sold as of Dec 1st 1.4m were in USA and Canada. Europe hardly got anything. And when you consider that Gamestop in the US said they have 2.3m people on the PS4 waiting list you know who'll be getting the most stock.

Closer to home my local JBs got about 50 PS4s yet they said they still have 200+ people on the waiting list. They said late February for walk in customers. I was 35th on their list and I ordered the day after the E3 announcement.

Considering Sony can only get 1m-1.2m shipped each month it's going to be a long wait for some people.

Dick Smith allocated approx 35 units per metro store. EB Games in Macarthur Square received 70, as did the Campbelltown store.

We really haven't received too many PS4's.

Yeh I know what you mean the ps1 interface was simple pretty much game or memory card options

This is a simple look and easy to navigate

Weird not having the traditional start button and getting used to the touch pad

Have madden 25 and AC Black Flag

Madden is cool and about to rock Black flag

Got the camera as well the playroom is a bit of fun with the robots and ping pong

I found this article this arvo, pretty sure most on here knew this anyway.

UNLESS ordered months ago, your chance of finding a PlayStation 4 console under the Christmas tree is extremely remote.

Sony today confirmed it had already sold all of its January stock, leaving Australian PlayStation 4 buyers little chance of seeing the next-generation console on store shelves until February at the earliest.

Only those who ordered in June, July or August have a chance of receiving a console in time.

Sony Computer Entertainment managing director Michael Ephraim said the company had been "overwhelmed with the demand" for the PlayStation 4 console and was still focusing on fulfilling orders placed months earlier when the console was unveiled.

The midnight launch of the PlayStation 4 caused a global frenzy.

"If you haven't pre-ordered, it is very unlikely (you'll see a console before Christmas) unless retailers have had cancellations," Mr Ephraim said.

"If you pre-ordered before Christmas, give the person you're giving the gift to an IOU and you will be able to get them a console in February."

In demand ... PS4 fans line up in Paris to get their hands on the console. Launching in mulitple countries has led to a stock shortage.

Mr Ephraim said Australian retailers were "still putting on thousands of pre-orders" of the $549 machine every week, but Sony couldn't meet the demand, with similar backlogs in Europe, the UK and the US.

Launching in so many countries so close to one another had caused the issue, he said, though stock shortages should clear by February or March next year.

Missing out ... Many fans hoping to get a PS4 for Christmas will now have to wait until at least February.

Sony recently announced it had sold 2.1 million PlayStation 4 consoles in its first two weeks on the market.

Microsoft's competing next-generation console, the $599 Xbox One, racked up 2 million console sales in 18 days, but claimed the title of the most successful console launch in Australia, with 65,917 units sold in its first three days, according to NPD Group.
