some of the funniest memes in recent memory have originated on youtube. sh*t quality is a good thing, it means you can stream it on just about any net connection without buffering constantly. proper sites? what does that even mean in this context? if you're referring to youtubes many competitors, i probably enjoy and frequent those sites too - although most of their content is already present on youtube.

the fact of the matter is - youtube is a great site, as is evidenced by it's extreme worldwide popularity (and sometimes controversy). as a web developer i only dream about making a site that is that successful. basically you have just shot off your opinion, which is fine.. but realise you are in a vast, vast minority. youtube would definitely be in the top 10 websites on the internet.
