With Boyd's form so far being what it is.......and tbh there's a fairly vocal contingent that doesn't think Darius should be there anyway

......Yow Yeh is gonzki for the year

I know we have Tate, Winterstein ....Tonga, Graham

Compared to NSW I think we're a bit thin on talent in the wing department ......

Any other choices....?

Tuqiri could hit some form between now and then. Tate should walk into the side. I'm not sure Tonga is a walk up start but he's never let Qld down.

Anyone questioning Boyds position in the side is an idiot, especially considering the lack of depth.

Tate is a must.

Boyd will still be picked, and im ok with that. Regardless of form, QLD dont just dump players unless theres a good reason to and i dont think club form has seen any players lose their spot in recent years. I remember Thurston was in poor form in 2009 and 2010 around origin time and he was retained and rightfully so.

Boyd will be there, you can guarantee that.

His form at fullback admittedly hasn't been great.

But put him outside Inglis and his job is to finish and be secure under the high ball - two things he does very well.

Tate deserves to be the other. Great defender and will act like another forward hitting the ball up.

Boyd is as certain as Thurston being picked.

Queensland don't chop & change & he's never let down on the wing, plus if Slater goes down he can fill in.

Winterstein has already been picked as 18th man for the Kiwis before. So you can't have him you dirty cheating maroon pr*cks.

You're welcome to Ben Te'o though.

Cheers Godz, was wondering if Vidot was still eligible after he put his hand up for Samoa.

If he can keep working on his game he'd be right in the mix. I thought he was good against us last week. Loved one run he made in particular where he just ran flat out at Hodges.

If you read foxsports.com.au Ben Barba is a chance for a wing spot. :sarcasm:

The backline will be made up of the following players;

Billy Slater
Darius Boyd
Greg Inglis
Justin Hodges
Brent Tate
Willie Tonga
Dane Neilson

They all have Origin experience and showing faith in players regardless of form has done Queensland well in the past, there is no reason for change this year.

I think thats something the NSW media don't get. Always looking for something different, but if it aint broken don't fix it.

Regardless of the crap he's served up so far for Newie, surely Qld wouldn't drop someone of Boyd's class? Yow Yeh's injury is a loss, is the great Gashley Graham any chance?

Just read another Ash Graham for QLD story

the humanity.

Tate has been excellent so far this season and deserves a spot. Boyd hasn't stood out but hasn't been absolutely sh!thouse either so he will keep his spot. Just doesn't seem in the games which doesn't surprise seeing though he was my #2 draft pick for CEO and is still on a donut for the season!!

Having Ash Graham on the wing is not going to hurt Qld at all

As long as Smith, Cronk, Thurston and Slater are there the rest will fall into place

i would have thought that before last year when they chose rookie nielsen over tate for a centre spot. i do not believe they will play nielsen on the wing. i think it will be ash graham or justin o'neill if he gets a few good games in, coming back from injury

Graham has played well this season and last season, aside from an absolute shocker in round 1 this year.

But there are some serious weaknesses in his game - ie defusing bombs and grubbers - and I think that NSW would exploit them mercilessly at Origin level.

Oh wait...Mitchell Pierce will be halfback for NSW. Never mind.

Absolute no brainer ... Boyd and Tate. Graham's been named as a back-up in the past, but I'd prefer O'Neil if fit. Daniel Vidot is another option if his form improves.
