Just for the record ... they just showed a snippet of the BA presser ... it seemed to suggest he said the difference today was the officiating ... un-BA thing to say
Probably saying it because we are against either Cows or Sharks the refs have been very kind to them this year. Smart thing to say by BA

I hope we get to make #cam358 cry ... tho i would be happy to see #cam357 cry too
You heard it here first, next season the NRL will do away with those silly round numbers and just have #CAM numbers to indicate how far through the season we are

Yep.I forgot which one of the Storm players finished up with the ball (as I got the shits and walked out of the TV room when the try was scored).

we really need to work on our discipline it's bad enough getting an iffy penalty but when we give away an obvious one after it that's our choice and something we can control

not building pressure and going for the miracle ball instead is another problem

Even with all the dud ref calls etc etc we still could have won that game. It's so disappointing that we lost that game. We lost that game with those Dumb penalties that cost us in the second half . And being honest, I didn't think we'd play that well against them, Parra surprised me. We showed up Melbourne, they are beatable, hopefully we can get a second crack at them in the GF.

Competition rate was good (87%) and possession was 50/50.

The big difference as you mentioned was probably the penalty count, 9 to 5 against us.

So they had around 20 or so more tackles then us in our own half which really killed us especially in the second half. We did very well to keep them to 3 tries.

We only had a couple of chances in the second half and we scored.

The worse call of night was KE knock on. Alsona few penalties letting them out of half when we had them.Amd slater milking a few.
The Brown one at end stopped any miracle play.
The first try was tough to call tbh.

We had a fair few tough calls but could and probably should have won that game if we didn't lose our nerve with discipline. We all know Melbourne are going to get favourable calls, that's the nature of the beast when they have influential players on the field talking to the refs. But even with all that, we should have won the game but shot ourselves in the foot a few times. As I said earlier we lost that game, gave it to them via our poor discipline.

Without looking at the stats board, I guess there is a fair chance the Storm have more GF experience in their side (let alone final matches) then our entire side has final matches!!

Add their origin experience, it was a bloody great effort by our side not to be over rawed by the occasion.

This is just the beginning of our premiership journey over the next few years!!

Fine they got it right at extreme slow mo speed with plenty of looks ... though its still say its baffling that they wouldnt even go to the bunker to check it

Just a thought from yesterday's game, I reckon another really good quality middle forward would make a massive difference to our side.

Mannah / Alvaro do their job as the more defensive props every side needs. Brown is our 70-80 min middle work horse, and his play making/off load will improve in the coming years. Matagi is ok.

But vave for me, just isn't "productive" enough. Can make metres at times but can be a liability in defence.

We just lack that "big blooper" that can break the line/poke through but is also not a liability in defence. It's adds another threat to our side, we are dangerous on the edges but maybe a bit predictable in the middle.

I reckon Evans will make a massive difference to our side. Additionally it's rumoured we are also looking for another prop too.

I heard em talking about finals experience on the radio pre-game ... smith, cronk, slater each have about 28 games - they didnt say overall what melbourne had ... the whole parra team parra has 38 finals games combined mostly beau and jennings and i guess mannah has 4

I was really surprised we managed to stick with their massive pack - and just about give it to them .... i thought with weight of possession like they had early on and they fact they can replace a mobile big boppa with another mobile big boppa, i thought we would end up exhausted

i reckon we REALLY missed Moeroa - he is one of our biggest forwards

Yeah losing Moeroa was massive for us. He was running at Muster nicely before the HIA.

We had to go to the toughest ground in the competition to play the best team in at least a decade.

A whole bunch of stuff went against us and, to be honest, we made some dumb calls ourselves.

Yet we lost by a penalty goal.

You know what? f**k the result. We're in this shit up to our eyeballs.

***

If the Sharks win today then next week will be the danger game for us. The Roosters have been crap for six weeks and got no better on Friday night.

So, let's cheer for the Cowboys today and, if that doesn't go our way, just f**king belt the Sharks next week anyway so we can face up against the Storm again on the Big Day and get the result we deserve.

Dont under estimate Terepo. He is in the same class as Matagi,Vave,Manah,Alvaro. And at worse adds some depth.

My favourite play of game was Alvaro elbow to head. That was nice to see he isnt a soft touch anymore. He has suprised me. Will come on next season even more.

Shame we lost Tepai. He was looking brutal in both attack and defense.

We also without Gutherson and Bevan. Auvau was immense and it showed that even without semi whon was non existant last night we can compete.

Half our spine was two reserve grade players in King and Smith. They played great but if anyone thought mid year we would go down to Melbourne and push them with those 2 in our spine?

They had cronk,munster,slater,smith in comparrison.

Also remember they have the best prop in game along with the Aus centre in chambers. And it doesnt stop there with Tohu harris,Mclean also internationals.
