Question to residents of Cronulla, Woolooware and Nth Caringbah,

you're back peddling, you snipped his comment where he was referring to caringbah - not captain cook drive

very next post

your response

then you backflip (like a nimby, i think you said) and state the traffic can hold you at the round-a-bout for no longer than a minute, due to TRAFFIC turning right - the direction Ram Dass referred to

a minute at any round-a-bout is a dam long time for mine

i travel that route (right into gannons) most days - its a mess from 5.30pm onward, it will be worse with residential and retail adding to the captain cook stretch no doubt, but its a sacrifice im willing to encounter for the betterment of the sharks

So tell me spider how will the traffic flowing to the development majorly effect gannons road??
It will be bad regardless and will only be impacted on a minor level by people travelling straight through staying on CC drive

We must travel along a different captain cook drive/Gannons road round about because I have no issues with the traffic there (though I do head home from Matraville to Cronulla through Brighton and Taren point so “no more than a minute” isn’t much inconvenience to me)

The traffic report been done states the development will have a “MINOR” effect on local traffic

The misnomer being put forward by the NIMBYS is that the development will have a major impact on local traffic which simply isn’t the case

another way which alleviates some pain is turn left at captain cook then take first right - runs you up past the school into the middle of caringbah

you miss the first part of the crawl through caringbah
All over it spide.

I also avoid Port Hacking road past caringbah library by turning right where caringbah pool is. That's the quickest route on average.

you said yourself you have to wait currently to get through, do you disagree more cars will impact both directions?

residential and retail alone will amplify traffic congestion, and not just at peak-hour times.

i agree

a minute at any roundabout is excessive - let alone once traffic increases, may as well put lights in and that would completely balls it up

who did the traffic report?

traffic up gannons is already farked - you provide retail & residential on CC drive (just a few hundred metres from the turn) and it puts more cars and stress on both directions

you said yourself you sit there for a minute and you are travelling straight ahead, why not drive up gannons and forward your thoughts?

the argument isnt confined to traffic going straight up CC drive, hence why the alleged survey went to the suburbs it did

since i answered your question, im sure you'll extend the courtesy to my question - if the belief is that it will only provide a minor impact on traffic, then why did the proposal need the roundabout at Woolooware road relocated?

the woolooware roundabout incurs minimal traffic compared to the gannons road one that we are discussing.

I guess we will have to disagree about what bad trafic is, i drive trough brighton on the way to work and taren point on the way home so i guess i have a higher tolerance

The traffic report was done by McLaren Traffic Engineering i believe

those roads service a great wider area, but i agree to disagree

are they expecting increased traffic - hence proposing traffic lights

I personally have no respect for any shire resident (and i'm one myself) who drives around only in the shire and doesn't leave, then complains about traffic.

To me it represents people with a very disillusioned view of sydney roads.

Traffic will probably be impacted, but if you want to live in a true coastal town, move further south.

More and more pressure will be added to the outskirts of sydney in the next 10-15 years, either suck it up and cop it, or move further away from the city, sad reality but that is the direction everything is going with an increasing population. The dream of an aussie backyard on 700sqm block 5 minutes from the beach 30-40 minutes from the city is dying a very quick death.

from the link you used attorney

What is the impact of the development on traffic?

A comprehensive traffic and parking management plan has been developed to manage this extra load and focus on:

• Traffic management

• Public transport

• Parking and transport on game day or night.

so the plan was conducted with focus on the increased traffic, or as they put it - extra load

by your definition they are nimbys

I don't know about defamation, but the serial pest knows a lot about defecation - he talks it all the time.

I remember growing up in Kurnell, not many cars but someone would always stop if you were hitching.

Nowadays, so much traffic, every day more and more and will anyone stop? You'd think somebody would have pity on a bloke with a patch and a hook

You know
Some of the responses to my comments make me want to see my club go under.

Angry fools who will not be inconvenienced in their own lives.

The fact is this.
I am simply commenting on the groundswell of neighborhood angst towards 700 new properties within 1 k of my home.

This is real, and deep down we don't want it.
So fuq yas all.

I'm gonna call my man Capsis in the morn and endorse his opposition.

So basically you don't want it because it will adversely affect you.
Nevermind the jobs it will create, or the value it will add to the area.
You don't want it because you are selfish.

I wonder if all these old whiners campaigned every time
some old dude's house was turned into ugly townhouses?
By his own f**king kids once he had carked it?

As a once or twice a year visitor to the Shire I can't believe the changes. Some good, some bad. Some needed for sure. It's called progress.

At one point years ago I had not been to Syd-a-ney for 16 years. I was blown away by the changes. I was rasied in Talara Rd, near the Tech College. I went back and couldn't believe it.

A lot of places where my mates lived were gone. Flats, units, townhouses.

As mentioned over the past few years (and with cheap airfares) I have made a lot more trips back to the Shire. It became apparent that this progress has a lot to do with City accommodation and housing needs.

The way I see it, if you want to live in an area you have to have available housing. You can have urban sprawl for sure, but if the needs for housing in an area are urgently required and an opportunity to create such, then the authorities should be all for it.

Look at this pic.... (supplied by Carch)

I can't for the life of me see how anyone could object to the development.

The area speaks for itself.
