Surely a trick question seeing as compulsory Grand Finals were only introduced in the 1950's...

yeh 2053, I think they began in 1953.

most years before 1954 had grand finals, but some years it was first past the post, for example as kangaroo tours took months to get to GB, australian seasons were one round, so they could get os in time
