This is a resulkt of some pretty ordinary decisions once BS left, DF ignored the best candidate (Jason Taylor) tto chase thay nuFfy Hagan. Retention and recruitment under Rocket and then DA continued the problem and undid all the good work BS did.

This club with its profile, fans, sponsors and facilities shud not be where we are. Went to training this week, the coaches did not run any decoy plays or second runners that the Storm do in their sleep. Verty, veryt disappointing and you get what you practice. I hope the people in charge see these things.

it showed. the way roberts was using fui and the way fui was standing so flat was such a waste. someone has to teach hayne where to be and how to run as a wide forward and this needs to be done in training. the way hayne, sandow and roberts operated with their runners was so obvious that they havent practiced it.

I don't agree.
Set by set, a good 6 (or 7 - whoever calls the shots) instructs (TELLS) his team mates in advance and in present sense what he wants, what plays to set in to motion, etc, where to be, etc......
Roberts doesn't seem to do this or able to do this consistently and reliably.
It looks like he just hopes that his psychic telekinetic abilities will send a loud and clear enough message to his team mates to tune in and follow.
Unfortunately they all seem resistant (or deaf) to Ben Roberts mind meld techniques.

You can talk, yell, scream, and plead with your players all you want...and if they choose not to listen, you cannot force them. I know this is a half myself. Blaming Roberts, when he was clearly trying to spark things and getting NOTHING from his team mates, is absolutely, positively, totally ludicrous....

OK Bazal, got your point, will watch the game again tomorrow night to keep a close eye on Roberts game and how he interacts with his team mates while Keating is delivering balls to barging forwards.
Maybe I got it wrong about his game today.
Maybe I'm being too hard on him, expecting too much from him.
F**k, do we have any player that can perform well at 6 week after week and the squad follows him enthusiastically all game?

Casper, I think you are being too harsh on Roberts. To me, he looked like the only bright spark we had in attack.

Hayne is playing on one leg. I hope Sandow was injured because what he dished up today was pathetic. Sandow clearly did not want to run the ball today.

We had more than enough ball to win today. If we had similar spark in attack like last week we win plain and simple.

Roberts looks like he is busy trying things BUT to me, he has no clear idea in present sense what he's doing.
He seems to lack focus and direction.
Liker I said in another post you can watch a headless chook running around the yard and it appears to be very hectic with a lot going on BUT in reality we are just watching it die.
To me, that's how Roberts appears to be playing.
Many of his plays just die!

Today his plays died cause no one was willing to play with him. last week we had some enthusiasm and his plays looked good.

It's like you think five-eighth is the most important position on the field.

Roberts tried hard today and did what he had to, and unfortunately it wasn't enough. Newcastle defended very well, especially on his side.

That whole side will attack much better when Esi is back in the lineup.

Sandow ran the ball 11 times for 75 metres today. Also broke six tackles.

Newcastle's defence were just too good on the day. Every time we made a half break they were there in numbers.

Credit where credit is due.

Mate, our attack was shocking and made the knights look better than they were.

Thats interesting, I didnt even know you could go and watch the team train for starters, but to me from an outside looking in we have really forgotten the basics of everything. There is little to no attention to detail to even the simplest things like catch a ball and having bodies in motion. You cant expect us to improve any time soon with the current onfield structure and attitude.

Can't see us not getting the wooden spoon this year.

I think I have seem the two poorest games of rugby league I have ever seen in my life and both of them occurred this weekend. The Roosters might be coming away with the two points but they are very ordinary. Titans are dreadful and at this stage should run last.

We'll finish mid-table.

We might have dropped too many games to make the eight but we'll at least go close.

Titans have massive internal issues. They'll get the spoon for sure.

We will finish bottom 4. Never been more sure of anything....

Chipmunk about 10 years ago they used to train at Crestwood once a week. I always used to watch them.
I don't know where they train these days. But it wouldn't be hard to find out.

The team do a lot of their training sessions on the oval next to Parramatta stadium which is out in the open, anyone can rock up and watch them train if they want to.
