Quitting smoking

For me eating is chore, I rarely enjoy it, but know I have to do it.
Maybe if you quit smoking you might be able to taste your food better and enjoy eating more.

My theory on it is that people love to see their breath. Whether its moisture vapour on a cold day or cigarette smoke people are fascinated by seeing their breath. If you watch people who have been smoking their whole life they still follow the trail of smoke with their eyes when they breath out.

Nothing to do with taste, I just find the whole process a chore.

I do enjoy a meal out, but for the rest a chore, if I could swallow a pill that did the same thing, I would, I have better things to do than prepare a meal, watse time eating it, then cleaning up all the crap it took to make it.

But as human I HAVE to eat so I do.

Fair enough mr a. I know one other person who is the same. You are missing out on one of lifes pleasures though. (the other 3 being drinking, sex and sh*tting) For those who scoff at my theory can you come up with you're own on why what is an essentially dirty, unhealthy, costly activity is so relatively popular? If it was just nicotine addiction there are plenty of other ways to take nicotine. There has to be something else.

Um most smokers enjoy cigarettes and the feeling it gives them?

Exactly. I smoked for 15 years having 30 a day and did so because i really enjoyed it, for what reasons i'm still not exactly sure but i did. It's hard to explain to someone who's never smoked and that's why they could never understand how hard it is to quit regardless of us knowing what it was doing to us and how expensive it is.

no, you never enjoyed smoking.

you enjoyed feeding the addiction.

If you never smoked in your life and someone forced you to smoke a ciggie, you would hate it.

The problem is heaps of teenagers think its cool to smoke, there's a certain stigma behind it. Education needs to look at more than long term health effects because alot of people start smoking at 15-18 years of age, and at that age not alot of people are overly concerned about the long term health effects.
When i was at school there were little skinny kids who use to think they were tough because they smoked, till they got their heads kicked in.
If I was a parent I'd be very vigilante with my kids around that 15-18 age bracket, and come down like a tonne of bricks on them if I caught them smoking

It's always good to have a theory, even if it is absurdly wrong.

Same would go for a glass of nice scotch or red wine.

Smokes are nice things, that is a huge part of the problem. A lot of drugs are nice things. Doesn't mean they aren't harmful at the same time.

Yeah, that would make it less attractive to teens for sure.

I wouldn't say I don't enjoy eating as such, but I get what you mean.

Whenever I'm busy with something & I get hunger pains I'm like "Aww FFS!" & I end up skipping meals.
