Looks like we need a team to beat themselves if we are any chance of winning.
Gutho - is too slow, he's not a threat to the opposition,
CT - big strong but too slow,
Kyle - not a half, too slow, predictable, no creativity,
Atkinson - positive about him, he needs support from the other half.
Klemmer was better than Kerr.
Until we have a top fullback, a decent halvs partner and a quality outside back I can't see results improving.
If they have a high completion rate they might have a better chance of getting on top of sides but if they don't play a perfect game they don't have the cattle to find the points.
I agree with this.
Whilst our forwards actually played well yesterday, they were let down miserably by mainly our supposedly experienced players.
Gutho- hate to say it but time has caught up with him. Love his exuberance, but he's slower than me now. Halves best option moving forward.
Val- to me looks disinterested, but moreso, like Gutho, time is catching up with him and injuries are taking longer to heal.
CT- yep I get the bulk reason to have him in the squad, but he's slow, he got run down easily after breaking into the clear.
Cookie- another that time has passed him by, no creativity as a dummy half. Compare him and Korisua (spelling) or Grant.
KFlan- should be coming off the bench, not a starter, great defender but offers little creativity.
Liddle- first game back, will give him a couple more weeks.
Atko- work in progress, but is more a 6 than a 7.
These aren't the reasons why we lost yesterday. Decision making in the heat of the moment is what's killing us. It's been poor both in attack and defense. Plus, we are top heavy. Too many players of the same body shape and this is where fatigue sets in late in each half, just about on every game.
Solution: Coach Flanagan needs to take off the blinkers for starters, stop relying on what his assistants tell him about this player and that player. Hard calls have to be made.
We playvthe Titans who are there for the taking, however, they possess very fleet footed players who will carve us up (JC, AJ, to name a few) if we go with the elephant herd approach. In saying that, Tuesday will be the 1st time in a long time I will not be looking forward to the Team list.
