Looks like we need a team to beat themselves if we are any chance of winning.

Gutho - is too slow, he's not a threat to the opposition,
CT - big strong but too slow,
Kyle - not a half, too slow, predictable, no creativity,
Atkinson - positive about him, he needs support from the other half.
Klemmer was better than Kerr.

Until we have a top fullback, a decent halvs partner and a quality outside back I can't see results improving.

If they have a high completion rate they might have a better chance of getting on top of sides but if they don't play a perfect game they don't have the cattle to find the points.

I agree with this.

Whilst our forwards actually played well yesterday, they were let down miserably by mainly our supposedly experienced players.

Gutho- hate to say it but time has caught up with him. Love his exuberance, but he's slower than me now. Halves best option moving forward.
Val- to me looks disinterested, but moreso, like Gutho, time is catching up with him and injuries are taking longer to heal.
CT- yep I get the bulk reason to have him in the squad, but he's slow, he got run down easily after breaking into the clear.
Cookie- another that time has passed him by, no creativity as a dummy half. Compare him and Korisua (spelling) or Grant.
KFlan- should be coming off the bench, not a starter, great defender but offers little creativity.
Liddle- first game back, will give him a couple more weeks.
Atko- work in progress, but is more a 6 than a 7.

These aren't the reasons why we lost yesterday. Decision making in the heat of the moment is what's killing us. It's been poor both in attack and defense. Plus, we are top heavy. Too many players of the same body shape and this is where fatigue sets in late in each half, just about on every game.

Solution: Coach Flanagan needs to take off the blinkers for starters, stop relying on what his assistants tell him about this player and that player. Hard calls have to be made.

We playvthe Titans who are there for the taking, however, they possess very fleet footed players who will carve us up (JC, AJ, to name a few) if we go with the elephant herd approach. In saying that, Tuesday will be the 1st time in a long time I will not be looking forward to the Team list.

I know I will get shouted down by all the negatives here but our forwards were dominating in the first half before the ref decided to punish us for the tiniest indiscretion with multiple 6 agains to get Parra in attacking positions.

Most of our sets were over 50m and most of Parras were around the 40m mark.
Yes we did make errors and missed opportunities with dumb play but we were clearly better.

Couchmen were awesome.
Can't believe people are getting into Suli, a few of his runs left the defence scattered behind him.
I agree poor games from Holmes, Gutho, and a couple of others.
Kerr looks like he has commenced early retirement, doing as little as possible.

Also, no one else has mentioned this, but was I the only one to spot the forward pass for the Parra try in the 36th min? The receiver was actually standing in front of the passer waiting for the ball.
No one on this forum and definitely no commentators mentioned it after going on about the Dragons try off that marginally forward short pass.

We started well, the forwards did their job, just couldn't ice the opportunities.
Either an error or poor options like taking a hit up 10m out instead of using the backline.
Suli played the way we expecting him to play with his size and strength, it was good to see.

After watching yesterday theres a few things that were apparent and even from earlier games. Gutho is definitely past it, and that dropped ball had me screaming at the TV. He definitely needs replacing. I dont care what he “brings to the team”, his slowness and errors are showing too much now. Holmes to me is in the same boat. Too many errors and couldnt beat anyone anymore. For all of his problems Flanagan at least got us a try when no one else could. Atkinsons kicking is at least getting us out of trouble with distance this year, but the opposition still gets the ball with 10-15m to run before we get there as distinct from us getting it and then being tackled straight away.
I dont know how Parras wall around the catcher is legal. Surely we are entitled to flatten them to get to the football yet we never did.
The 6 agains in the first half were a joke and i dont know why Flanno didnt blow up royal about it, or the forward passes ( twice in 1 try) from Parra.
I dont know how you train out dumb play though. I was close to a coronary watching mistake after mistake and then throwing the ball away. Sadly i think Flannos excuses are starting to wear a bit thin. Liddle needs much more game time so the favouritism needs to stop otherwise its another year of pain

Suli sitting mitchell moses on his arse was a highlight amongst an otherwise dull performance from the team

I’ve got a lovely set of bowls with the wonderful St George & Dragon emblem on them.

Happy for them to go to a good home for a very reasonable price.

Otherwise I'll ask Flanno if he wants to take up lawn bowls 7 days a week and I'd happily give them to him.
What size are they @Old Timer ?

This is accurate, I was at the game. We look dominant when we are playing set for set (this was also the case last week against Melbourne which I also attended), easily and yes, it seems to come from our young forwards and the hitups with Suli and Luc etc. The errors yesterday killed us, too many and at the worst possible times. The more experienced players had a shocker....

I think that's exactly what Flano is trying to achieve, big bodies making meters going set for set.
Keep it simple get to your kick, kick to corners or inside the opposition half.
With a high completion rate you will get field position.

This works only if the ref eases up on the whistle and how the game is played there's always an error, penalty, six again etc.
It's rare that teams go set for set for long periods of time with no whistle blown.

last year we were doing the same but both our halvs had a weak long kick.

good to finally see some decent comments on here with how we need to improve and what went wrong instead of fully bashing our squad.
Experience players are the ones letting us down. Errors that shouldn’t be happening not even for rookies .

few changes I would do.

-fale in (either for Tu or CT)
- Hanagalu in for Kerr and start on an edge
- Luch move from edge to bench impact (he did that once he came back on for 10 minutes)
-Sele onto 6 man bench .

But that won't bash and barge wont work against better opposition.
Looked good because Parras forwards aren't that good.

My takeaway from the game is the referees gave a big "F..k you" in response to having the audacity to ask for explanations after vegas.

Also while I have been a supporter of the coach I think time is running out. The forwards are going ok but 1 to 7 needs change.

Priorities man! At least wear a RedV jersey to the reception and play the game on a big screen.
My wife is still annoyed with me on "our" wedding day 1992, I was getting updates from my in-law inside the church, when the then Dragons beat the (Steelers)?? by 1 point to advance to the semi's & then upon landing back at airport from our honeymoon asking the 1st person I saw, if they could tell me her was in the GF.

I’ve been guilty of that

caught for going to the bathroom to many times at family catchups or events when the Dragons have been on the edge of or in finals

it could have been guilty for spending way to long doing a no1 in the bathroom 😂

dad ran good interference cause he would want to know the score also 😂
