The time to really captilise was when Charlie Gymer was in the bin. The opportunity was there to put on more than one try. But the proof is in the pudding (if it wasn't there already) - we have no game breakers and no speed in the outside backs !
Why is Lawrie in the top squad (and also starting at lock) over Sele getting demoted back to NSW Cup? Blake, I know you love the place, and we admire your passion and heart for the jersey, but you are not up to this week in and week out. This makes no sense to me at all.
Fale IN - Tuipolotu OUT (left wing) ... we need speed (and lots of it)
Holmes & Suli - why the hell have we made the positional swap? Hook tried to switch Suli over the left and it didn't work? If we want to persist with Val at right centre, cool no problem, go and get Bronson Xerri signed up ASAP. Again, this makes no sense to me.
We need to carry Halangahu on the six man bench as a potential option to come on and open the game up - from what I saw today of him in NSW Cup, hits a hole at speed and has a tiring defence in two minds with his footwork (Dylan Egan also can't come back soon enough and I hope the ACL recovery has not set back his development too far).
I'm not even going to bother discussing the halves. The fanbase and punters on this forum know what they want to see, but we also know deep down the only way things may change is as a result of an injury or suspension (and even then LKT is next man up).
I'd like to consider myself as one of the more positive brigade - but we don't seem to have progressed from where this playing group peaked last August against the Sharks at Kogarah... and it's very hard to see where the progression forward is going to come from now. That's seven losses on the trot in NRL competetive matches (and we struggled in the pre-season against a virtual Souths reserve grade side).
