I hate JDB at lock. Tell him he's now a prop and to just tuck the ball under his arm and go forward. Then tackle. That's it.
I'm going to scream if I see him do that pointless one off the ruck stuff he's done all his career. Slows the attack down and adds zero value. Get him out of the friggin way.

Definitely wasnt expecting Eisunhuth to 13, but it gives us a way to get him and RFM into the starting side.

Also happy to see JDB @ prop, I think hes a prop anyway and it shields us a little from having both Sele & Lawrie out at the one time.. not really sure what to expect from Fifita, I know he looks the part but hes had 0 NRL games and really hasnt been called on for more than a few minutes of work at a time... very early days there.

I would have expected RFM to lock, he's done it before and has some creativity and I'm not sure Eisenhuth has ever played there.
I was also expecting T.Couchman to be ahead of BMM especially after such a poor showing in the 2nd trial. I'll be disappointed if we again put BMM to 2nd row instead of prop off the bench - he'd have good impact at prop and could defend better there than wider where he just becomes a liability for those defending outside him, we saw it last year. Oh well, Lawrie, Sele and Luc will all be back next week.
I still think we can get this done tonight, the Titans backs are going to have a huge job on their hands, literally, stopping our big backline.

Hopefully Lomax gets a bit of time at fullback. He is our most creative player and could set up a lot of tries if he gets a lot of ball. I know he makes errors but they are because he tries so hard to set something up.

Always thought he was more effective when he was playing at the line than before it! He’s strong enough to get the odd ball away anyway.

Do you mean like the last try the dragons team have scored .. you know the trial vs the tigers where JDB gets the ball, goes to the line attracting two defenders, gets the ball out to Hunt two wide of the ruck who gets between two defenders due to the space JDB gave him. Hunt gets partially through frees the arms and finds RFM who then goes back inside to Sloan. Is that zero value? Is that what you have never seen JDB do?

JDB was the benchmark 13 before Yeo was in the picture. It was the ball playing he was good at and got him to origin with his defence. That’s what differentiated him from other 13s at that moment because he could defend, attack and had good passing game.

Didn’t he at one point even play at 6 for a game, it surely wasn’t because of his running game. It’s because he had a good attract and pass.
