Toka has good runs, but if his general fitness and defence is anything like I saw on the weekend then he's still a ways away from first grade - I don't see how he could handle it at this stage. Tets could get a run soon, but I think he's been injured much of the year? Probably still working on match fitness.

I don't think either of them at all address our actual problems, either.

Manly and The Bunnies not being cautious with Cherry-Evans and Reynolds is also apples and oranges. They both play in the halves, for starters... and Reynolds is 23 yesterday, so 3 years older than Clydesdale.

Regardless, every player is somewhat different. Some take to first grade like they were born there and never advance past mediocre... some struggle when they hit first grade and go on to much bigger things... somewhat rarely (imo) will one look like a world beater from day 1 and continue to be one the rest of his career. Need to handle every player on their own merits. I'd be giving clydesdale more and more time every game to see how he handles it, and if there's no problems throw him the job next year.

Why not Likiliki or Tetevano? We have enough defensive specialists in the team with Scott and Smith. What we're missing with Cuthbertson is the attacking spark off the bench...Likiliki and Tets are tearing it up in NSW Cup and deserve a shot over Houston.

And what's the point in being cautious with Clydesdale? Were manly cautious with Cherry-Evans? No, they f**king threw him in there. Were Souths cautious with Reynolds? No, they f**king threw him in there.

Wayne needs to release the shackles off this team

Those defencive specialists cant make tackles for him. Melb will run him ragged all game, get him to make decisions and capitalise capitalise capitalise

Bingo. If we were playing Parra, we might have been able to try it and get away with it, but we're not and things aren't that dire just yet.

If that team runs out, we'll get hammered.

Not that it will phase me overmuch. I'm not going to waste my Sunday afternoon watching it.

I will not be wasting my arvo either as it is the putrid Channel 9 4pm game.

They know how to milk a footy game. Sometimes the ads go that long, I get up to do something else and forget footy is even on. Worst televised match of the week by far.

Wayne said he isn't sure if he's going to play Gower considering he's only just come into the side.

But how the honest f**k does Waddell still get picked? House I don't mind because he either plays well or is just shit like last week.

Does Wayne want us to finish in the bottom 8?

When was the last time House played well (made a line break, bent the line, put on a good hit, etc)? The bloke is deadset impotent, I said this a few times before but I'm glad we don't have to rub through the banners like they do in AFL because House wouldn't make it out

Cherry-Evans was a bluechip prospect with a solid apprenticeship in the QLD Cup. Reynolds was a guy no one rated who was thrown in because the team he played for got rid of their 'star' half and there is never an affordable half on the market at short notice. Clydesdale is also a hooker, not a half. Much better comparrisions could be made with the way other young hookers are being brought in like McCillwrick, King, Rein, Srama etc.

Hopefully House can minimise his penalty count to say ... three and his drop ball count to something similar.

That's starting to sound a bit better. Though would've liked to see Houston out for pretty much anyone.

Cuthbertson in, Faalogo out - Keeps things even
Gower in, Clydsdale out - Gower to halfback, Buderus starting hooker and Roberts bench?
Uate in, Naiqama out - TBH, I don't know if this is a positive based on form.
Buderus in, Waddell out - Massive enhancement.

Let's just start Scott in Houston's spot and go with a 3 man bench, please Bennett!

Personally I would have stuck with Clydsdale and as much as I'm a big fan of his, given Tyrone a week or two in NSW Cup. May very well have been the kick in the pants he might have needed.

The first 3 changes I named are certainties. Bedsy is highly likely to play, he's been in full training all week, haven't seen much of Waddell. I'm not sure on positional, Gower has been training at halfback still so it's anyones guess really atm.

Gower said on Triple M tonight that he was "highly unlikely" to play this weekend :-k
