We are capable of winning. It's a big ask though. I hope we do. We've slipped out of the 8 now but have a bye in hand.
Show 'em what you really got Newie!

We can still hope that by some freak occurrence we manage to win, right?

Ok, maybe not :(

I actually think we'll give them a good run. We perform much better against sides we're not expected to beat. We pushed Souths right to the end and our best performance of the year was against the Bulldogs and we were completely written off before that game. It's our inability to aim up against sides we should beat (like last week) that frustrates me. I have no doubt we'll be up for the game and throw everything we have at them. The issue is particularly down there in Melbourne they still have too much class for us, especially with our issues around the ruck.

Our best chance of winning is for the storm players to have a delayed origin hangover. Which happened to them last year, for about 7 weeks. The storm have already lost at home to the raiders and away to the panthers. They are more vulnerable this year then previous years.. But still don't like our chances.

Is it just me or do we seem to have more 'hoodoo' teams than anyone else. We can't win in Canberra, we can't win in Melbourne, we can't win in Brisbane, we can't win in NZ and we can't beat the dragons.

Lol! I think that's less of a hoodoo and more 'we're just crap'.

i hate to see a kid's football development put on hold, but it is even worse a talent like Cydesdale is sent mixed messages. He was close to signing with Manly. He was asked to stay and did. He and Gower could share the dummy half duties if need be but i am starting to think Gowie will play halfback now. That means Tyrone and Clydesdale get more or less backburnered to accomodate Mr slow mo from dummy half

Gower has flat out stated his hooker days are over. If Benny had told him he'd be coming to play hooker he wouldn't have signed. He'll play halves.

Clydesdale won't be bothered tbh. I reckon the kid is stoked to have played some first grade and knows he is the rightful successor to our #9 jersey when his time is right.

Well that answer is simple. Waddell needs to go. That'll fix alot of the problems we have at the moment, including the Cyldesdale one.

I really don't think dropping off the bench today will affect Clydesdale too much. It'll affect us as he should be there over Waddell but he'll be fine. He's been brought into firstgrade directly from the under 20s by Wayne Bennett. I'd say he's pretty confident in his ability at the moment.

I was gonna say Storm by 40 but Cronk being out will have a huge effect on the result. Storm by 36.

I wasn't even aware we were already out of the 8. Don't bother looking when were going crap.

Huge bonus for us having Cronk out. I now give us slightly more hope...hope being the key word.

Prediction:

We will be fired up, play with controlled aggression, discipline and even a touch of flair that has been missing over the past month.

It will be a credible performance and we'll stick with them for 60 minutes, then lose by about 14.

People will say that we tried hard and played pretty well, and if we put in a performance like that against lesser opposition we'll be fine.

We then won't put in a performance like that against lesser opposition at all - and we will revert to the negative, weak and overly cautious style of play we came up with against the Dragons.

In less than a month we'll have reached the "we need to win every game from here" position.
