We gave it everything, just couldn't quite get there.

Cameron Smith was the difference between the two teams.

If Leilua put that ball down, we might have gone out and won by 20. I think it was a positive game. We're 4 outside the eight, which does worry me, but, I think if we make it into the 8, we'll go deep into the finals.

Here I am to take your pessimism to the cynical and paranoid level. The Knights are making this a close game that we will inevitably lose just to make me hate them more than if they had lost by 30.

Well losing 16 - 14 did the trick.

CSmith and TWaddell was the difference more like it.

How good was Aku under the highball today? Was really good to see. Was that his evil twin brother today? Because there was no attack from him today.

I understand being upset at the loss but FFS, we are an ordinary team playing a top 4 team. Even at reduced strength their still going to go ok. Back in our hay day we would have done similiar to teams.

We need to keep some perspective.

On another note ex Knights NYC player Mitch Garbutt debuted for the Storm today.

And yeah we have a habit of losing when we take a penalty goal too early don't we? At least it feels like it this year.

I'm upset about losing, but I was happy with the way we played and the effort. This isn't a game we should moan about like some of our previous losses.

I don't share the perspective that we are an ordinary team. Not at all.

We have a backline to be envied, one of the form halves in the competition in Mullen, and a pack that offers plenty (with the exception of House).

Arguing "Oh, we aren't a very good team and we pushed Melbourne" doesn't have merit. We are a quality team being coached poorly and held back by a few mind-boggling selections. We played a very poor Melbourne today and still managed to lose.

If we had lost 16-14 in a game where we played our best and they played theirs, it would be acceptable. But we arguably played with more intensity than them and didn't get the job done.

That's why I'm pissed off.

Another season p*ssed away, we lose so many games that we really should win. Don't hide the reality, for the second week in a row, we lost a game we should have one easily.

Every other team in the comp with the except of Parra would have beaten Melbourne today with the performance they put it.

We however choke again at the end. Seriously, can we drop the "the effort was there", it's like being the tallest gnome, i.e it counts for nought in the NRL.

The reality is that we are a team of cast offs and has beens and frankly we are getting what you pay for, so this is our future, laid out for all to see.

I'm sure that Bennett will trot out every feel good cliche in the media conference, but the reality is that his teams are performing worse than Stones teams, with more resources.

He was brought here to do a job and failing miserably. If it was any other coach he'd be on the way to being sacked. What makes the situation even more regrettable is that every other coach under pressure has managed to get his team on a roll, hell even the cowboys won but what have the Knights and Bennett managed, to drop 6 from 7.

What's the next excuse.

Yes, the Storm were missing Cronk, but we were missing Buderus and Gidley. Forget about Gidley's ability, it's his leadership we're missing at the moment IMO.

I think it's bullshit that Melbourne played poor and were there for the taking. Apart from a couple of poor 5th tackle options they were standard Melbourne. Clinical and well-disciplined, I think with about 10 mins left they only had 2 errors. I don't think they conceded a penalty in the second half, if they did it was very few.

Just because they didn't have Cronk doesn't mean we should have automatically won.

Yeah you can wax lyrical about Storm being one of the best teams, we had some injures etc, it's all true but the fact is we lost yet another game that we should have won. Said it last week but a bunch of tough fought losses does nothing for us when we're outside the top 8.

They were not incisive in attack, their last tackle options were poor, and they struggled to make meters until the very end. I would say it was a decidedly un-Melbourne-like performance.

Cram, mate the reality is that teams below us have been beating us also, the saints were an utter rabble for three weeks until we gifted them the game.

We should be called the salvos because everyone who needs a bit of charity, gets it from us.

Storm this week, saints last week, I even expect us to be Parras fourth win of the season.

All ifs and buts and maybe's but if Leilua uses two hands to put the ball down in the corner, we kick clear ...

I thought it was one of better performance this season.
The Knights didn't give away too many penalties.
It was rookie mistakes from Roberts and Sims that cost the team in the end.
Both will learn from it.
Waddell stuffing up from play the ball didn't help either.

If the Knights scored the first points in the second they would've went on with it. Bad mistake from BJ.

If you have no expectations you can't be disappointed. I have zero expectations.
