We still have Sloan another 2 years. Hes one injury to Gutho away from being back. Really needs to have some solid consistent games in cup, his best and worst are very far apart. He does things like against Manly chasing kicks and belting the FB, then has abysmal games like against tigers at magic round, he pretty much let in 2 tries with no effort. It’s very inconsistent.
Compare and contrast. Lomax moved from centre to wing. Doesn't sulk, plays out of his skin represents NSW and Australia. Sloan moved from fullback to wing......gets dropped to reserve grade.

Reality is the ladder doesn't matter right now.. we need 8 more wins to just about guarantee top 8. Even then, this year, who knows. With our draw, I don't know where those 8 wins are coming from. We 100% need to beat teams like the phins if we're any chance of doing it though which makes tonight an absolute must win. Big game...

Yes those narrows losses will cost us a spot in the 8.
We might have better for and against but finish on less points this year

Yah, the more I look at the ladder, the more I realise it means nothing.. 1 loss and ur back into the swirling mess of some very good teams that are down the bottom still... plenty of them will make a run yet.

Our upcoming draw is full of in form and classy teams, including a dogs, 2 raiders and 2 sharks games.. id back us as a fair chance if we were full strength, but weve lost a tonne of our best defensive and high minute forwards, Ryan and Egan the big 2... Sua will be back atleast... and not even counting Sele or Guler who should be (when fit) competing for the last bench spot over Lawrie... our bench this week really worries me.

But lets hope we can jag games like tonight, im not really worried about Top8, I just want things to be respectable this year to help us recruit and really build into what should be a much better roster in 2026... more seasoned, more flexible with atkinson and whoever is still to come.. another batch of duds moved on.. still a couple more will be there in 2026.. but were getting closer and closer to a workable squad.

Have we ever beaten the Phins since they came into the comp ? They tend to play out of their skin against us & King Phin Hamiso loves playing against us.
