sky news is really getting sh*tted on

to be fair i spoke to some of my fam who liv in münchen and theres been reports that english fans have used war-referenced songs directed at german fans and to be frank this day belongs to germany, jus beat sweden, progressing thru the world cup, so whats english fans job being drunked yobos at a live site stiring up sh*t, fifa are a pack of gutless wankers, they said before euro 2004 if pommy fans acted up theyd boot them out of tournaments, the night before euro 2004 pommies went on a rampage in lisbon, nothing, after every english game so far theres been clashes, nothing, ok nothing like like france 98 or euro 2000 but still clashes are there

The penalty was a shocker.

His run up was totally off and never looked like he would get an accurate shot in.

Well I backed them to score the fastest goal of the night. Also backed them to be ahead at half time and full time. As well as backing Podolski for the first goal.

So Podolski scoring in the 4th minute for a 1-0 lead to Germany is good :D
Bad luck Mexico, too slow :D

How bad are the German defenders!

They seem organised but are hopeless when it comes to trying to mark their man or get the ball.

I'm loving the way they attack but gee are they ordinary at the back.

Lehmann had a shocker as well last night.

Germany will need to work on their defence before the game v Argentina tho

They have been able to win on the back of simply superiority so far but that changes from here.

The Germans could knock Argentina out on this form. Argentina are a technically better side but never underestimate the value of home support in a World Cup. Worked for France in '98, worked for West Germany in 74 and Argentina in 78 among others.

I just cannot see it happening. I think we will be saying goodbye to the hosts. You may say that Argentina weren't convincing v Mexico but in truth that was only due to the South-American style (Brazil not included ;) ) i.e. closing them down, defending from further up with very little space.

Personnel wise:-

Crespo/Tevez/Messi/Saviola >>>>>> Klose/Podolski/Neuville/Odonkor?

Riquelme/Cambiasso/Aimar/Mascherano/M.Rodriquez >>>>> Ballack/Frings/Schneider/Schweinsteiger/Borowski

Sorin/Ayala/Heinze/Burdisso >>> Lahm/Mertesacker/Metzelder/Friedrich/Huth?

Form wise :-

Argentina are red hot. I think Germany have rode their luck for the last couple of World Cups i.e. the luck of the draw. Sadly for the hosts is has come to an end.
