I haven't noticed that, but I'm sure you're right. I'll look for it on Sunday. Was just making a general point about marker defence really.

Truth be told the defenders and markers should be aware of what is going on to their right and left at all times. Mase getting back slowy is asign of experience, not fatigue. He knows that a Farah will make contact with him to get a penalty. Smart dummy halves will wait to pin any retreating defender who is offside.

Yep, I think this is the first time we've fielded a full strength 17 all season.

You aren't quite full strength, unfortunately missing 1 important player. I'm sure he'll be there in spirit.

Should be a good game, you buggers always seem to get the cash @ Cronulla. Hopefully different this year.

3 weeks ago it was the battle of the losers, now it's a battle of 2 "in-form" teams. 1 will really be in-form after this.

If you've been watching him there have been games where he CANNOT get up off the ground quickly enough to get back to marker. So, the play moves on and he then can't get back on side ready for the next play the ball. It doesn't happen every tackle but it is happening enough for most in here to be talking about it.

For mine Snowden has never really been much different. He's been extremely slow since he arrived here.

Feel free to go back and reread what I wrote. I stated very clearly that he struggles to get back onside. I'm perplexed as to why you are questioning whether I watch the games when I am in agreeance with you. In my post I also gave a reason behind this ie He goes crazy for a few minutes in defense where he is the first player leading the defensive line, then he is out on his feet for a few minutes after it.

In regards to Snowden, surely you aren't sitting there saying that he is in the same shape now, as he was towards the back end of last year? He's carrying far more weight (blind Freddy can see that) and the numbers he's churning out are way less than what they were.

I'll be curious how Mason goes. I keep hearing that his motor isn't what it was a year ago and that he's over the hill. I'm not completely convinced as he appears to be doing a lot of work off the ball that would definitely chew up a lot of gas. He charges up in defense and often charges at the support players who are a possibility of getting the ball. He appears to go flat out for periods and then he starts struggling to get back onside. The player whose motor I'm more concerned about is Snowden. When he's injured or suspended he appears to spend all his time at an all you can eat Pizza Hut. His speed and lateral movement is no where near where it was towards the end of last year.

Not having a go at you simply giving my opinion to this bit in bold. He's simply past it if he can't "go crazy" for a few minutes and then get back on side.

As for Snowden, he's slow and always has been. This problem with him "getting fit" is an ongoing saga. He's massively over rated to boot. Will be very interesting to see what happens with him re his contract if Bennett stays on a few more years.

The whole Bennett thing has taken out focus off this game, hopefully not the teams though.

I really have no idea what to expect this arvo from us.

Just put $10 each on Aku or Joey as first try scorer.

To be honest I can only see this game going one way given the circumstances.

We're gonna get smashed. By the f**king Sharks.

Go team :sarcasm:

Don't forget that it's rise for Alex round. I honestly can't see the team being totally deflated or not focused. I think we'll be ok.
