Yep. If they were happy to give up a top 4 finish in 2009 I can't see them putting in this year when they have nothing to lose. I say the news re Bennett will be the thing that crushes any fight they had left in them after this year. The players seem genuinely shocked and upset which is a telltale sign already.

I reckon they'll rip in for precisely one more game for the rest of the year...and that's next week.

The difference being that the players 100% bought into what Smithy was trying to do and felt abandoned when he left. Have they bought into Wayne in the same way? Will it have the same effect? I don't know. Maybe, but not necessarily. I think the circumstances are different this time around.

Boyd is my biggest worry for the rest of the year, because I'd say he'll go to sleep again now and we know he won't get dropped. We need to work out who wants to stay and who wants to go now that Bennett's future is figured out and pick our team based on who is staying.
