Crichton over Phillips confirms Hook likes a beefy winger rather than a speedy one.

Seems to be the case. I know Phillips bombed one of the tries of the season, but otherwise I also think Phillips is a slightly better finisher than Chricton.

Anyway, Hook has generally got his selection decisions right this season, so I’ll have faith in the selection until it is proven otherwise.

I think Phillips / Crichton was a personal preference, both have their pros & cons, & both capable first graders imo.

I think Crichton especially will end up being a very decent player.

Haven’t checked the stats but Phillips just seemed a bit safer to me. Crichton does the hard yards better.

Peachey's defence isn't very good at centre.
Whare has been improving defensively this year. Peachey has gone backwards although he hasnt really had a proper run in z position this year.

Bench to centre to halves to centre while being utility for NSW. Its not really his fault he cant train in and focus on a position. But regardless he is behind both centres in all areas right now. Probably lucky to get a utility spot considering he is gone next year. Be easy to drop him for May, Egan or Luai.

It almost feels like we are putting a team we want on the field rather than just what we have to.
I can’t wait to see the sauce back, I hope he hits the ground running like Blake has.

I am expecting a big game from Cleary, I think he may be feeling a bit of pressure with the emergence of luai.
I also hope Dallin is not rushing back because he thinks that he has to to keep his fullback gig.

Yeah it's not his fault but I guess it's good Whare/Blake develop since they're the long term options. Let Titans develop him.

Whare has been a good defensive centre for awhile now. I think in defense he's always been better than Peach.

A very strong side.

Some interesting changes in the team. I thought Phillips would survive over Chricton. He did really well in setting up that try for Blake in the Warriors game (after catching the Kikau offload) and has more pace than Chricton. With Chricton also leaving us at the end of the season I thought it would make more sense to give Phillips more game time at the expense of Chricton.

Looks like Peach will also be the replacement for Katoa when he goes off the field. I wonder if Griffin will try to play Katoa for more minutes (it hasn't been clear to me in previous games that Katoa was actually gassed when he came off).

Peach hasn't shown himself to be a particularly good hooker (certainly a step down from Egan in the number 9 role), so it'll be interesting to see how that plays out.

The other possibility is that Katoa plays 80 minutes and Peach comes into our forward rotation in some way (like happened in the first few rounds of the season before Blake got injured and when Wallace was playing 80 minutes at 9).
True but egan doesn't really run peach does so at the back end of the game a running hooker with tired defenses is actually a good thing.

Egan is a running hooker, running is his strength.

We haven’t seen much of it in fg yet but he’s a very good runner.

I think Jerome earned 18th man this week. Any injury in the backline pre game and it can be shifted around to fit Herome and his form deserved it. Would like to see him play cup if he doesn’t play nrl tho.

With sauce, Dallin and possibly Maloney carrying some kind of injury you can see why the backs need covering.
