if Tariq ever wanted to make good on his promise as a player today is the day. He could really give JWH a rugged time and I hope he makes it his mission to wind him up. He has huge errors in him Jared when he is put off trying to fight everyone. I think putting the Sims boys upfront together could be a stroke of genius by Bedsy. I expect huge games by both win lose or draw.

Barry Toohey revealed today in the Telegraph that Kurt approached Stone weeks ago and asked to stay at fullback for the rest of the year.

It's kind of hard to read that and then believe the stuff about Kurt supposedly putting the club above himself. He's not up to fullback anymore, we have better options, and he'd be much better suited in the halves where he's actually needed. Not only that but his selfishness doesn't allow the club to prepare for next year by giving someone like Mamo experience.

Unbelievable. I don't know what's worse, him requesting that knowing the club have better fullback options or Stone/Bedsy/the club actually compromising the entire team to make him happy.

Cannot wait for him to be gone.

So who comes onto the bench for randall and faalogo?

And who slots into 2nd row for Tariq?

I'm guessing we'll see something like this

1.Kurt Gidley
2.Aku Uate
3.Sione Matauatia
4.Dane Gagai
5.Nathan Ross
14.Tyler Randall
7.Tyrone Roberts
12.Tariq Sims
9.Adam Clydesdale
10.Korbin Sims
11.Beau Scott
16.Chris Houston
13.Jeremy Smith

17.Clint Newton
18.Danny Levi
19.Sam Mataora
20.Joseph Tapine

I would have swapped Houston and Tims. Houston should be no where near the back row- at least at prop he is solid.

That team is so bad I think it gave me cancer. Rumour going around that they're resting Pearce and starting Hastings at halfback. They could rest all their stars and would still put 50 on us.

They are potentially resting Pearce cos the Cowboys, Souths and Broncs all lost meaning their ladder place will be unchanged regardless. Smart move. I believe that Robbo anticipates Manly at Brookie in two weeks will be a brutal game and that he could indeed end up playing the Eagles in the GF if their form continues. Manly are in bullshit form.

If they are indeed thinking along those lines they are crazy, why would you risk what should be an easy 2 points by resting players, especially after your rivals have just lost. Win today and they're one win away from the top two with a far superior points differential to anyone else.

It would make more sense to do it if those other teams had won.

On the other side of the coin, this time of year most players are carrying small niggling injuries. Resting some players may get these players 100% fit and ready for the finals, as opposed to the niggling injuries getting worse.

I would rather finish 3rd or 4th with my main play maker 100% than finish 2nd with him at 80%

You could throw some of the 2007 teams into the mix as well.

Yeah well if a player had a niggling injury that would be a different story.

I am so f**king happy the Premier League is back so I can forget this f**k up of a club exists. Players thinking that they deserve to play positions over talented youth, having to go with a mediocre bench hooker in the halves. God damn.

I hope we get thrashed by 60.

tapine has more ability in his little toe than that entire backrow. Buderus is way too close to these players and it is starting to show. I hope Brown just tells them all to f### off if he gets the nod. I do not want any ex Knights on our coaching staff at all next year. Zero. A total my way or the highway coach.

While I tend to agree with this, I don't think there's exactly a great deal of depth to call on at the moment. Tapine aside, we don't have much to call on at the moment that's streaks better than what is in this side :(

Fitzgibbon, Yates, Vai Vai etc. all seem incredibly raw. I think Ross performed well enough last week to justify his inclusion again but dropping Mamo for Uate is dumb. Give Uate a week in NSW Cup and make him compete for a position.

The problem could be largely solved by sticking Gidley into the halves with Roberts. Guys who are definitely part of the side next season shouldn't be playing out of position or sitting in NSW Cup to accommodate players who are being moved on.
