Highlight of the game for me (outside of that last passage of play):

Mullens tackle on Carney in the first half. Stunning. Absolutely stunning.

Made an extra 80 tackles. Penalties 7-3 (none for us in2nd half).23/38 complete sets for us, very poor.

Even though we haven't been playing great, we're beginning to hang in for closer to the full 80.

And thank f**k for that!

Finally, a win where we aren't playing that great compared to a loss where we play really well and show some good signs. We need competition points more than anything else right now.

I can't believe we won. Just gobsmacked really. Thought it was game over at 14 - 12 based on past performances.

Mullo should get the full 3 dally m points, with both gi and Sutton missing some games mullo will be up there to win it.

I missed the game due to work, but I checked the stats on nrl.com. It says Snowden ran for over 100m and made 51 tackles. That's insane for a prop!!!

Mullo's kicking game is just phenomenal. His defence is unbelievable. He is the complete player Mullo. Next week he can really write another chapter. I think we are stabilising while a lot of so called top four sides have the wobbles.

I just pray that Wayne doesn't take the captaincy off him and give it back to Kurt. Would be a gigantic step backwards

My thoughts, Kurt to fullback (will give his all) Boyd can f**k off. Dane is being used for to many hitups he isn't big enough to be a battering ram, I think it is detracting from his game.

Gidley was doing some talking to the ref later in the game. I think he took over as Captain. Might be wrong though.
Mullen has always, apparently, done a lot of talking and leadership out there. I think him and Gidley can work together fine regardless of who is captain.

He was good but what about Fifita, he is a dead set beast. Without him and Gallen, we'd have beaten the Sharks comfortably.

Fifita is very close to being the best player in the comp imo.

Some people see what they want to see in a game. Boyd is 10x the player Gids will ever be.

Maybe when he feels like playing which is not very often. Atleast with Gidley, you know he'll give 110% every week instead of once a month like princess Boyd.

Wayne got pretty short with the press gallery when queried on whether Jarrod acquiesced in regards to the captaincy when Kurt ran on. To me Jarrod is and should remain captain. Maybe Wayne's reaction says the same. A fit Gower means Bennett has a huge decision this week to make about who plays halfback. In fairness to Tyrone he was very solid. Great kid. Talented ball runner. Just IMO not what we need to drive us to full contenders. We once again face a very pivotal match at home on Sunday.

I think last night proved why Mullen needs to stay captain. Minutes remaining and we're down by 2 with our season on the line... Mullo puts in 2 amazing kicks to win us the game, but Gids drops the ball metres from the line when we were on the attack.

I think Gids is a great on field leader for us, but Mullo needs to stay captain...especially considering Gids will most likely be playing hooker for the rest of the year and beyond where he's not going to be on the field for the full 80.

Didn't do much with the ball again last night (unless you count falling over the line for a try and a grubber that went dead) but gee he is a good defender. And has a sixth sense for where the ball will be, always cleaning up kicks and line breaks.

Our attack inside the 20 was woeful to be honest. Two tries from kicks and one from a Sharks error.

Thankfully the Sharks were worse, Storm at home will tell us where we are at.

I'm hoping with that performance (and a win) last night we might start having more confidence in our defence. Meaning we can try trickier plays in attack an not be too concerned if they don't come off and we drop the ball, because we can defend it.

I don't know what people want Roberts to do? Mullen is our chief play maker, Roberts will only try something if there is a good opportunity or mullo is tied up. Wayne has more than likely pot a leash on Roberts except for what I mentioned above. He does his job well and then some. He is a solid all round footy player.

History in this competion shows that having one dominant half and another that just gets his job done is definitely not a bad thing. In the last 10 years I think every team besides manly have had 1 dominant play maker.

Roberts is good enough to stay. We should be really looking at hooker. That's the most worrying position for mine.

No doubt our defence won us the game last night - and has kept us in every game for the last 10 weeks (including the Roosters game which blew out at the end). We haven't conceded more than 18 points in eight of the last nine rounds and when that happens you give yourself a chance. We've also won our last three in a row away from home.

Good time of the year to be getting your defence right - the attack looks after itself.
