Possibly stating the obvious here but...
I was at the game. A couple things stood out that may or may not have been obvious on the tele:
1. We were shit ;-)
2. As good as Mullo's kicking game can be at times, for some reason when he goes to the air for what seems to be a high ball, he doesn't kick it very high. Now, when I say not very high , I mean it seems a deliberate tactic to just throw it up a little and then let the fullback catch it without any pressure whatsoever and then return it x amount of metres. Then, at the other end, Boyd is being peppered by absolute monstrous kicks and the result was a dropped ball. You only need one mistake from the fullback or winger to get a shot at a try. We just don't have that in our play. No idea why???
3. Obviously the ball control was f**king horrendous.
4. We lack creativity and fail to threaten around the ruck with Bedsy and Gids.
5. Dane is f**king awesome. He's targetted heavily each week but still does enough to give this side the chance at putting some points on the board.
6. BJ is a monster who looks as though he is playing injured (and I don't mean the shoulder knock he gave himself) and needs to improve his ball skills. Could be an absolute gun if he improves in a couple of areas. Needs to play smarter at times. Does anyone know if he is carrying a leg/foot injury???
7. I can see why so many want to see Gower given a shot the next couple of games.
On another subject, I see the sin bin has made a miraculous return to the NRL just one week after the Cooper Cronk fiasco v Newy. So, not only did Melb receive the rub of the green last week by some how avoiding the sin bin for a player who carried out a deliberate professional foul, but the same side today benefits from the week long media focus on said Cronk incident when their opposition has a player binned for a professional foul. :crazy:
