I posted this elseware But have decided it needs it's own thread Willow will decide ultimately I surpose .

The NRL confirmed its policy today on Club jerseys when contacted by
the R2K group.

* The NRL asks each Club which jersey/strip they wish to wear for an
upcoming round.
* The home team will always gain its choice of jersey.
* The NRL will only ask an away team to wear an alternate jersey if
there is a colour clash with the home team.
* The NRL confirmed that they are yet to ask the St.George Bank Dragons
to wear their alternate strip in
2007

We will wear the Red Tee at the Canberra match to celebrate 25 years of Something plus one other match yet to be specified

It's f**ked up. The weak rationale is adidas are a sponsor, not just a supplier. And part of the sponsorship deal is a set number of appearances for the red tee. But in my opinion, any deal that dilutes the red V is simply not worth doing.

i'd like to know what some of the greats think of the red rag, some of the legends who gave their all for the red v, raper, gasnier, changa, smithy, surely they must be as horified as we are.

How many times have we had that red rag on this year, and we haven't been requested too. Piss Poor Management for mine.

Yeah that stinks......

I just figured we were told to wear it so I held back on the abuse.

But f**k that. How about Adidas take their three striped piece of sh*t and shove it up their arse.

What if we end up getting sponsered by Nike? Do we have a white shirt with a big red tick?

Oki Jubilee and a red three striped ugly piece of sh*t jumper. Loving our sponsers.......

I still have a very bad feeling that Doust will commit the biggest of attrocities and make the team wear the Red Tampon at Kogarah.

I think I'd try and lead a walk out if that occurred. Either that or a stampede of the field.

The last thing we need is to damage OKI . A mass walkout would make a point that hasn't been seen since that day with the coffin . Besides that Board wouldn't have the balls to do it .

just watch the fences there Preach - they are dangerous.

I'll swap your away strip for our away strip anyday.

It is a proper joke - no it is past a joke - the crap we fans have to endure with our clubs and the ridiculous away strip bullsh!t. The alleged conflict of colours..... total crap. It's the $$$$$ only.

Okay Ive had my spray

Cheers

Is it Doust's decision only?

If they wore it at Kogarah and there was a walk out it might be the best thing to get the message across..... seems they arent getting it at the moment.

A mere figure of speech Rev.Ted. ;-)

I'd like to contact that famous sub-continental compay "Effigies-R-Us" and see what they have available in the "Doust CEO" range.

Father, as you know, they keep telling us these days that it is a business.

us older farts know that it crap. Its a game, a sporting game. If you don't have fans and supporters you die.

The wise men of today seem to think that the game will survive without the fans.

They have crapped so many times on the grass-roots that the lawns are dying.

But the ratings are sky high so who cares.. well i used to. But the decisions that get thrown down my throat are starting to and have for years been making me sick.

State of Origin is sick, they took the stick out of it to be politically correct.

Sunday night GF's. Great if you live in metropolitan NSW and have the Monday off. But I bet there are a lot of people around australia that buy jerseys and follow clubs that really hate the sunday night GF's - but hey the ratings are great.

Clubs being forced to wear puke jerseys because some marketting limp wristed designer thinks they look "cool" and mugs will buy them.

I'll give you an example.. now I know of your inbred hate of the mortal enemy, but how many sharks supporters have you seen walking the streets in the cute little grey and white number they make us wear at away games.

Its like your red V and our sky blue, how many clubs do those jerseys clash with. Look at the bunnies.... the difference between there away and home - a black or white triangle section under the arms - geeze give me strength.

If it wasnt for my love of the game as it was and my loyalty to your mortal enemy I would of given the game away years ago.

Cheers
Quigs

what about a red jersey with a white v...or is that just too insane?
With respect, I have no idea why people keep making that suggestion. I recall some bloke last was posting up pics of jerseys and he put up the white V version in this forum. Unfortunately he was Manly supporters and it looked like a Manly jersey.

The real problem is the strange reluctance from people to use to most recognisable rugby league jersey in the world.

Mate I couldn't agree more . As for hate , I didn't hate anyone in the 70's and 80's I think my hates have come from the bloody young suits that know little of the game, it's handed down stories of courage and loyalty , of the battles fought in our tribal colours .
Of the bonding of taking your kids to the game and of their becoming part of the tribe .
Yeah I hate !
I hate the modern young shallow suits and the modern companies with their meaningless cynical bullsh*t slogans and their business speak with the bottom line always being money .
I hate seeing them in the best seats at games eating and drinking and NOT even watching the game .
I resent them brainwashing a generation of league fans to sell newspapers and pay TV subscriptions and to sell their cheap substandard made goods
I hate the lack of Loyalty .
I hate them trying to erase place names from the clubs and replace them with marketable animals .
I hate seeing the game dieing in the bush and I hate the way the NRL stands by while Aussie rules scoops up the fans . If the game is a business we are losing the Brand war .
I think that I'll end my rant now .
