We took three players. Boyd, Scott and Cuthbo. None are Dragons juniors.
Chris Houston, Keith Lulia, Wes Naiqama (possibly Kev, too?), Danny Wicks, Beau Henry, Neville Costigan, Alex McKinnon... we've done quite a bit of pilfering the shit out of their squad since Brian Smith took over.

I feel ya bro

My Missus has already done this to me. She posted pics of my twin son and daughter in Maroons kit last year. I have bought them both Knights clothes and have done my best to get a head start on making them Knights supporters but I fear their SOO loyalty will be compromised by the wife and inlaws.

I'd love to say "At least it's only 3 games a year" but we both know they live their lives through Origin results. I'm just going to do my best to create an advanced breed of queenslander who has the ability to win/lose with class.

It's circle of life. We sign all of the Dragons players and Penrith sign all of ours.

Also I married a Manly supporter. I made sure my kids had red and blue on them as soon as they were born. Wasn't going to take that risk...

That isn't to say we haven't got our fair share of home-growns/locals in our squad, either.

1. Boyd
2. McManus (local junior)
3. Tahu (local junior)
4. Gagai
5. Uate (local junior)
6. Mullen (local junior)
7. Roberts (local junior)
8. Snowden (local junior)
9. Buderus/Gidley (local junior)
10. Mason (local junior)
11. Houston
12. Scott
13. Smith

14. Gidley/Buderus (local junior)
15. Rochow (local junior, spent a couple of years in Melbourne)
16. McKinnon - Dragons junior, I believe... but a local boy all the same.
17. Cuthbo

So that's 10 locals, 11 if you include McKinnon... with pretty much the rest being ex-Dragons and a Bronco, lol.

Scott is originally from Picton, signed by the Dragons as a 15/16 year old so technically they were his first club. Switched to Cronulla for 2 seasons and made his FG debut there

7. Tyrone Roberts
8. Kade Snowden
9. Kurt Gidley (c)
10. Willie Mason

From the Newcastle Knights website.

Personally I'd move Tahu into the centres, put Mckinnon onto the bench and drop Costigan.

Scott is from Picton so pretty sure he is a junior of a Western suburbs club.

Then he came to us, went to the Sharks, then came back to us, and is now with you guys.

Picton is in group 6 which is Illawarra territory

I'd much rather Quinn at centre than Mckinnon. He's faster and he's an experienced outside back. Mckinnon cost Uate tries on Sunday night also which doesn't help his case.
But he also set Uate up the week before.

I'm sure McKinnon won't make the same mistake again.

Yeah he did, however looking back at the replay, it really was a a simple move to pull off. Maybe not for a player like Junior Sau, but for any other centre in the comp :p
